Elegant and classical form vase covered in a thick, pale blue seihakuji glaze with a peach-bloom like blushed copper red accent across the face of the pot. The vase is glazed porcelain and is a blend of Chinese and Japanese influences and is in perfect condition with its original signed box. The vase measures 9.8" x 4.5".

An extremely well fired Iga chawan by Shigaraki and Iga potter; Furutani Kazuya. This medieval styled chawan has a pleasant cylindrical form with areas of running ash, dusted ash and hi-iro along with clamshell impressions from where the bowl rested while being fired. Richly glazed complex form covered box that was pressed in to a hand mold and later finished off in temmoku and tessha accents. Obviously a well conceived form, this box was made by the son of legendary Mashiko potter, Sakuma Totaro, Sakuma Kenji.. The form, finish, lid and foot can easily lead to the Mashiko style and Sakuma in particular. All in all a very well conceived piece by the son of a pottery legend.

Serene Hagi chawan by veteran Yamaguchi Prefecture potter, Okada Yu (b.1941). Thrown of a rich daido clay and covered with first a slip and than an ash glaze, this chawan was fired in a wood fired climbing kiln the way that Hagi has been fired for centuries.
