A Royal Doulton Chiné stoneware jug or pitcher with pewter lid, c 1890, partly gilt and enamelled in turquoise, blue and white. The Chiné pattern, where a textile – lace - was pressed into the clay to create the desired effect, was invented by Slater, director of Doulton from 1887 to 1936. English, most likely Bilston, eighteenth century. The elongated oval shape, all over floral decoration, and the unusual brown painted panels are not infrequent characteristics of Bilston’s “gingham finish” enamel boxes, hence the Bilston attribution.

An attractive personalized glass paperweight by the Union Glass Co. The typical patriotic coloring is made up of the honoree’s name “John W Sullivan” in lampwork letters surrounded by a ring of red and blue lampwork flowers with small green leaves. As with all Union Glass weights, the crown is high and has very nice clarity. The glass is also quite heavy. The polished base is flat.

This cloth doll has very dear oil painted face with great soft blue eyes. She has leather hands that could be original by the way they are put on. (I bet some mother was proud of herself for thinking of using old children's gloves for unique hands!) She has the body form, like so many cloth dolls, that looks like they were meant to ride a horse. The stance gives her the look of authority. Portuguese Azulejo Ceramic Tile from old buildings, 5 1/4" square, 3/8" deep, hand painted traditional blue color design, the condition is good.

This is a 19th century sterling silver sugar caster made by Shreve Crump & Low Co. highly regarded and well known silver smiths. The height of the caster is 5” and the diameter at the widest is 3”. The caster is fully hallmarked and also engraved on the bottom with three initials and a date 7.29.1894.

Ornate antique Bohemian garnet necklace with floral gem-set links and seven graduated pendant drops mounted and backed in gold filled metal. Circa 1850-1880. Length: 19 1/2 inches. A Moser cranberry perfume or cologne bottle that is nicely enameled with some wear to the gold scrolls in the reserves. The stopper and the bottle both bear a small gold “5" indicating that these have always been together.

A nicely decorated lobed dinner plate with an off center bouquet of bright flowers in the well of the plate, two sprays of flowers on the lip and a reddish-purple rim. A little green bud near the rim covers a firing flaw. Diameter 9 7/8 inches (25 cm). Underglaze blue mark of crowned interlaced Cs.

Condition; very good and little wear. A short hairline crack from the rim goes about an inch into the plate.

Bright colors and interesting that no gilding was used.

This porcelain dish was produced in France by Pouyat Limoges around 1900. It is 9 inches in diameter and 1 1/2 inches deep. The porcelain is molded into three separate sections with a handle in the center. The decoration is a factory transfer of geraniums and foliage. They flow around the dish in an art nouveau style. There is lacy gold trim and heavy gilding around the rim and on the handle. Condition: Excellent

Patented January 1890. What is unusual about this lamp is that it is a finger lamp, too. That is a safety feature.

A very well decorated two handled urn or vase with everted rim with a black background showing figures in classical garb around the main portion of the body and with elaborate continuous ornamentation, mostly in orange on the outer edges and handles. No makers mark or mark for the country of origin, but likely to be English (possibly by Samuel Alcock & Company). It might be French. Lovely sterling silver lettuce fork in Whiting's 1896 "Dresden" pattern. The ornate design of flowers and shells compliments the elegant shape of the piece.

Iceberg lettuce, developed at the end of the 19th century, was the first leafy vegetable that would keep long enough to be transported from farms to larger cities. Consequently, lettuce was a very elegant and costly food at formal dinners.

Majolica wares were all about representing nature, and this gurgle fish pitcher is no exception. These fish pitchers came in a number of variations, most of which dealt with color schemes and minor design differences. This pitcher, we believe, represents the cream of the crop in a number of respects, the first of which is the gorgeou color, the primary one being the rich nearly forest green glaze which scales to mint green. Unmarked, but likely Minton, soft paste porcelain covered sauce tureen "Feuille de choux" pattern with a rose finial. These knock-offs of 18th century Sevres were popular from the mid-19th century (c.1850)onward and Minton made many very good ones. With the lid it is 5 1/2 inches (14 cm) tall, 7 1/4 inches (18.4 cm) long, and 4 inches (10.2 cm) wide.

Flat cut almandine garnets were the most popular gemstone of the Georgian period shown here in a rarely found naturalistic floral and leaf design necklace set in 18K gold. The pansy shaped flowers represent remembrance.

Sterling silver berry spoon in Towle's 1884 "Arlington" pattern. This rare pattern featured a different repousse design on each piece of the service. The gilt spade-shaped bowl is engraved with climbing roses growing on a trellis. This decoration is especially interesting.

The pattern is named after Robert E. Lee's plantation, "Arlington". Union troops buried their dead in Mrs. Lee's rose garden as a spiteful act, and unwittingly created Arlington National Cemetary.

A creamware plate with a pierced border of alternating piercing patterns and gilt sections. A gilt bird stands in the well of the plate. The decoration is out of character for English style of the period so I would guess that the plate is Continental and from around 1800. It is 7 ½ inches (19 cm) diameter. No marks on the back.

Condition: no chips, cracks, hairlines or repairs. Some scratches and wear to the gilding.
