This is a beautifully crafted souvenir spoon from San Francisco, pre-dating the Golden Gate Bridge.In the bowl of the spoon is the Golden Gate, with the Marin Headlands on the right and Fort Point on the left. There is sailing vessel in the water and a setting sun beyond the Golden Gate.

This spoon was made by Watson & Newell Company circa 1886-1895.

This porcelain chocolate cup and saucer was produced in Fischern, Bohemia by Carl Knoll in the 1880s. It has the blue under glaze bee hive marking. There is writing in German, “Gesnng u Spiel” or “Singing and Play”. The saucer has a diameter of 5 1/4 inches. The cup is 3 1/8 inches tall, without the handle with a diameter of 2 3/4 inches. Painted cast iron horsehead nameplate by Hubley, intended for use on a stable door, probably at a racetrack or horse farm. Two screws are meant to hold an engraved nameplate to the horseshoe. This would make a great name plate on the front door of a home.

This porcelain cup and saucer was produced in Germany by the Royal Berlin Porcelain Manufactory known as KPM around 1835. The signature is in blue under the glaze. The cup is entitled “Das Konigl: Opernhaus u: Bluchers Stanbild.” Roughly translated it means “The Konigl Opera House at Blucher’s Statue”. Poesy rings were popular in England and France during the 16th through the 17th centuries as lover's gifts. The quotations were often from courtship stories and are usually inscribed on the inner surface of the ring as is the case in this one. This ring amusingly reads "A virtuous Wife Preferreth Life".
