This porcelain pot de crème was produced in Austria at the Royal Vienna Factory before 1820. It has an under glaze blue bee hive mark as well as impressed numbers. It is 3 1/4 inches high including the lid. The finial on the lid is in the shape of a flame. It is decorated with hand painted grape leaves that encircle the lid and the cup. The style of the handle and painting are quite similar to Meissen porcelains...
This porcelain perfume bottle with stopper was produced in France in the mid 19th century. It has some impressed letters and numbers but they are not legible. The style of the gilding and the lady’s dress are typical of the mid 19th century and so this would be considered “Paris Porcelain.” It is similar to porcelain produced by Sevres. The porcelain is very fine and thin. The ground color is rich cobalt blue...
English Tunbridgeware work/sewing/jewelry box in walnut veneer, decorated with two bands of chevron inlay of various exotic woods and with two hexagonal mother-of-pearl escutcheons. Circa 1880-1900. The interior is lined with paper and fabric, and there is a fitted lift-out tray. Condition: age crack to rear top of lid, several older veneer patches at corners, replaced hinges, faint scratching of a name on cover. All decorative inlay is intact. Dimensions: 9.75" long x 6.75" deep x 5"high.
Early Georgian shagreen covered slant front knife box with original brass hardware and working lock. English. Circa 1740-1760. Materials: Shagreen (shark skin) over wood with brass bail handle, hinges and lock escutcheon. Including key. The hinged cover reveals the original velvet fitted interior with divisions for 24 pieces of cutlery (slots to hold 12 knives and 12 forks)...
Enoch Wood historical Staffordshire dark blue transfer plate, Moulin sur la Marne a Charenton, from the French series. Circa 1825. Pearlware with grapevine border and with pottery's impressed WOOD mark and underglaze blue pattern name. Size: 9 1/8" diameter. Condition is very good apart from some light staining to reverse of plate.
A fine 19th century 6-1/2" Stourbridge-style milk glass vase with amber glass applied leaves and feet plus red cherries. The milk glass has nice orange fire when held to the light, and the leaves, feet and cherries are well formed. It is unsigned, and it in excellent original condition with no chips, cracks, damage or repairs other than the loss of part of the amber glass stem on one cherry (see picture)...
From our European Collection, a fine 19th century Victorian wheel barometer, featuring a black lacquered wood casing inlaid with mother of pearl, swan neck pediment, silvered barometer dial, bow-front thermometer, hygrometer, spirit level, and with an ivory setting knob. This is one of a pair of wooden (not papier mache) footed plates made for export. The central medallion Japanese scene is classic and the rim has ornate panels with animals and plants. Each side has handle shaped and painted as an ivy leaf.

This set of 6 plates was produced in Germany by Nymphenburg in the late 19th century. They have a diameter of 8 1/2 inches. The plates have rococo style reticulated borders. The center of each plate is hand painted with bouquets of vibrantly colored flowers. There are gilded accents and trim.

A lovely pair of imperial Russian spoons, the backs of the bowls decorated with finely engraved scenes depicting portions of the Arsenal and the State Historical Museum on Moscow’s Red Square. The handles are finished in the traditional twist motif. The surfaces are gilt, and the engraving is worked through the gilding in some areas and more lightly in others, allowing a nice contrast of colors within the design...

This porcelain butterfly was produced in Thuringia, Germany by the Schwarza-Saalbahn factory around 1900. Similar porcelain objects have been produced by Karl Ens of Volkstedt. The butterfly is 6 inches wide and 2 1/2 inches high. It is made of hard paste porcelain and is decorated with brightly colored high glazed enamels. There is raised enamel beading and gilded accents. It is an unusual object of beauty.

This is the upper part of a kamishimo; samurai's formal attire without the trousers. It was worn over a kosode (kimono with small sleeves) with trousers. The texture is hemp like; coarse, slightly translucent, thick threads (thicker than other kamishimo). The family crest is the feathers of a hawk. This crystal glass was produced in Bohemia in the late 19th century. We are not certain of the manufacturer but it is in the style of Lobmyer and Moser. The glass is 5 3/4 inches high and the diameter of the opening is 3 1/8 inches. The crystal is hand blown. It is decorated with brightly colored enamels.
