These wonderful painted (some outlining is printed) plaques were done in the Staffordshire area of England in the late 18th century. They are 6 1/2" long and 4 1/2" wide. Each depicts a classical head in profile. It is uncommon to find a pair, especially in such wonderful condition. There are no chips, cracks or repairs of any kind, and the painting is vibrant and unscratched.

A renaissance bronze figure, Italian, Venice, and in a superb style with the stylistic hallmark of the Roccatagliata workshop, c. 16th.- early 17th. century.

The figure is made of bell metal and depicts a Cupid with spread wings holding a scroll with the portrait bust of Christ. He is standing on a stepped podium and mounted to a heavy black base.

Size: 15 cm. tall including the black stone base and 10,4 cm. for the figure alone.

This pair of bronze candlesticks was produced in France in the late 19th century. They measure 6 3/4 inches high and the base has a diameter of 4 1/2 inches. There are 3 areas on the candlesticks that have the champlevé enamel decorations, the cup that holds the candle, the bobeche and the base. The enamel decoration is elaborate and very colorful. There are girl and boy cherub figures creating the shaft of both pieces. They are in excellent, antique condition.

Pewter plate, of variety apparently used for special occasions like Purim or Passover etc., 9 3/8" diameter, and filled with incised design consisting of Hebrew characters and an eight pointed star that reminds of the "hex" symbols of American folk art . On the reverse are three "angel/justice" symbols as often seen in these plates, and some writing above that in Roman letters, difficult to decipher. I see the word "FEIN" below one of those angel figures...

A beautifully executed American watercolor on paper portrait painting of a woman. The sitter has auburn curls and is dressed in an Empire style dress with wide lace collar, a paisley bordered shawl, white turban, and matching pearl and gem brooch and earrings. All the details are very finely limned.

The painting is in excellent condition, with no creases, tears, fading, or restoration. Sight size is 8" by 6 1/4", and the gilt molded frame size is 10" by 8 1/4".

This porcelain charger was produced in France by Lazeyras, Rosenfeld & Lehman Limoges in the 1890s. It is titled on the back “Dictant Une Lettreâ€, Dictating a Letter, “after Harry Roseland". Harry Herman Roseland (c.1867-1950) was one of the most notable painters of the genre painting school around the turn of the 20th century. Pretty Edwardian inkwell. Made by Foster & Bailey in Providence, ca 1910. Rectangular clear glass base with chamfered corners, wraparound acid-etched garland, and star cut to underside. Ovalish well with short neck in sterling silver collar with hinged and domed cover. Cover top has enameled flower basket and garland on white wavy and chevron ground with ornamental blue lunettes. Fully marked. Very good condition with strong color.

A charming metal artist's trade sign mounted under glass in a fine period wood frame. Obviously done to showcase his skill, it shows a palette with brushes resting in the thumb hole along with flowers, additional flowers and a bird outside of the palette.

The sign and the frame with its original backboard are in excellent condition. Sight size 13 1/2" by 9 1/2", and a framed size of 17" by 12 1/2".
