This pair of porcelain plates was produced in England by Copelands China in the 1880s for the retailer J.E. Caldwell of Philadelphia. They measure 8 1/8 inches in diameter. The porcelain blanks are fluted and scalloped. The ground color is salmon pink. They are decorated with an elaborate pattern of raised enamel beads and intricate gilding. They are an example of the splendor of porcelain in the “Gilded Age”. These plates are exhibition worthy. Condition: Excellent

A beautifully painted William Reid coffee cup with a large floral group and several smaller ones. Loop handle. The paste and glaze combination gives this cup a very distinct greenish gray appearance, not seen in other factories. It is difficult to capture the color properly in photos, but the first one shown in this listing comes closest to the actual color.

The front of the vase has a reserve of young girl from the 19th century. The portrait is framed with shiny gold. The remainder of the vase has ornate raised gold swags, ribbons and trophy objects. This cup and saucer was produced in Germany by an unknown manufacturer between 1815 to 1848. The set does not bear a maker’s mark. The location of this scene is written on the bottom of the cup “Ruine Trinberg bie Kissingen” translated Trinberg ruins near Kissingen. The saucer measures 5 5/8 inches in diameter. The cup is 3 1/4 inches tall with a diameter of 3 1/8 inches. The cup has a hand painted scene of castle ruins spanning a hillside...

A beautiful green English balustroid wine glass with a hollow stem. The cup bowl is over a shoulder cylinder knop which sits atop an egg knop. The stem is finished off with a true baluster knop above a high domed foot.

The glass is of lead metal, is 6 1/16 inches tall, with a bowl diameter of 2 5/16 inches and a foot diameter of 2 13/16 inches. Perfect condition with no restorations.

Note: Glasses of this type were primarily sold as export to the continental market in the 1760 - 1770 period.

A classic 19th century 2nd standard (800/1000 pure silver) tastevin, inset at the base with a 1669 coin bearing the likeness of King Louis XIV surrounded by "Louis XIV by grace of God King of France and Navarre." The obverse of the coin can be seen from the bottom of the tastevin. The coin is surrounded by the typical pattern of "perles" and elongated "godrons" designed to create reflections in the wine to better judge its color and clarity...

A Child's English Silver Christening Mug; Hallmarked London 1807. Dimensions; 2.5" high x 2.125" at base, weight, 2.7 Troy ounces. The makers mark is somewhat indistinct, but it can be made out to be "RG", for Robert Garrard the First. Very fine condition.

A fine naïve folk portrait profile of a gentleman, signed on the reverse by the artist Samuel Rowell. In the same hand is the location of Amesbury, Mass, and the name of the sitter, Moses Henderson.

The painting is on card, done in watercolor with gum arabic highlights, and is in the original gilded wood frame. An additional piece of glass has been put on the back to protect the written information.

The condition of the painting is excellent, with no folds, tears, or staining...
