In our humble estimation, Pickard China porcelain from its early years was the Tiffany of table china. Its enameling and gilding aesthetic in the years from 1898 to about 1930 had no peer. This console bowl is testimony to that opinion as it blossoms with natural beauty from its hand painted flowers which circumscribe the interior rim in a tasteful lush gold band...

This gem was the product of the Gundersen-Pairpoint Company in the mid 20th century, but ended up the collection of an avid glass addict. For serious collectors, we can offer limited but very interesting provenance for this and other goblets we are selling from a socially prominent philanthropist who settled in north Georgia and died in 1939. An outstanding pair of studio quality candlesticks from the hands of famed ceramicist Clement Massier of free form with fully modeled frogs and snails. The glaze is a complex interplay between faintly iridescent gold and hollandaise yellow. Signed C(lement) M(assier) Golfe Juan AM on underside. Excellent condition.

A Russian icon, Theotokos of Kazan, also Our Lady of Kazan, depicts the Theotokos Mary with the Christ, produced in wood, tempura, silvered brass oklad with cloisonné enamels on the nimbus. A hand painted plaque is mounted below the image. Condition is excellent with one piece of missing enamel. This fine icon dates to the 19th C., most likely late. Dimension: 12 1/4" x 10 3/4"

This exceptional teapot is from the Staffordshire region of England from the very early 19th century, reasonably dated c. 1800 and attributed to the New Hall factory. It is a porcelain production imitating the very popular Chinese wares coming into the European market, and attempting to convince consumers that it was of the same quality. These pieces often depict domestic scenes but are frequently scenes from theater or novels...

A larger than usual maiolica dry jug jar painted on the front with the scene of Saint Martin dividing his cloak with a beggar. On the back is the cypher for the Carthusian order and the date 1700. Unfortunately it is highly unlikely that this is the date of manufacture for the jar, which is almost certainly from the late 19th century and is loosely based on the series of jars that were made from 1697 into the early 18th century...

A most gorgeous porcelain bowl hand painted with green and pink fancy decorations around the rim of the bowl with a central vignette of two birds fluttering in a magnolia tree. The rim is edged with a mustard enamel. The condition is very good with some enamel loss in the bowl though not easily recognizable. The backside is marked Minton with a British registry mark dating to 1860. Structural condition is superb. Dimension: 9 1/2" d

A goblet, presumed to be made by Riverside Glass Works as early as 1906 as pattern number 593. It has a caramel color, not a common find.

Please be aware that this pattern is known by several names such as Old English Colonial, Blucher, and Colonial, in part due to the change of ownership of the molds, during the first quarter or so of the 20th century, during which three companies owned them. As such we are unable to warrant the maker.

These fine porcelain ewers are made in a neoclassical style with a slightly flaring base supporting a bulbous body whose neck narrows before ending in an elongated spout. Tall dramatic handles are attached to the vase. Rich cobalt blue panels alternate with white ground spaces each having simple floral embellishments surrounded by gilded swirls and scrolls. Heavy gilding is used throughout on these elegant ewers made c. 1895...

Majolica wares were all about representing nature, and this gurgle fish pitcher is no exception. These fish pitchers came in a number of variations, most of which dealt with color schemes and minor design differences. This pitcher, we believe, represents the cream of the crop in a number of respects, the first of which is the gorgeou color, the primary one being the rich nearly forest green glaze which scales to mint green. The belly is white while the tale and bib are brown...

A very fine and scarce flint glass water goblet in the Magnet & Grape pattern produced probably 4th quarter of the 19th C., the scarcity owing to the frosted leaf, most of which were unfrosted. The glass is clear but watery...

A fine double series opaque twist (DSOT) wine glass with a widely flaring waisted bucket bowl, the bowl atop a stem containing a pair of spiral threads outside of a central gauze. Conical foot with rough snapped pontil. Lead glass with good color, striations, and tooling marks.

Condition is excellent, with no chips, cracks, scratches, or restoration. Height 6", bowl diameter 2 3/8", foot diameter 2 5/8".

This set of 6 porcelain plates was produced in Germany by the Carl Thieme Dresden Factory in the 1890s. The plates measure 8 1/4 inches in diameter. They have a reticulated border measuring about 1 1/4 inches with tiny blue and gold raised rosettes. Vividly colored floral sprays and a ring of flowers decorated the centers of each plate. There are gilded accents and trim around the borders. The little rosettes around the border make these plates special. Condition: There are a couple of...
