A Doulton Burslem Hand Painted Cabinet Plate with Three Birds in the Center Reserve. Registration number 97183 for 1888. There is a very slight chip on the edge (visible in the detail photo).

A charming folk art, watercolor on paper, portrait of a very pretty young woman. She is wearing a mourning band on each arm, and is sitting quietly on a chair, with the sheet music of "The Julia Polka" on her lap. Since the painting is titled, in pencil along the lower margin, "Julia ???", the most likely explanation is that this is Julia, mourning for the loved one who probably wrote the song for her...

A Fine Arts & Crafts Copper Silent Butler from the workshops of Dirk Van Erp in San Francisco. Applied decorative initials "E G W". Measures about 7 1/4" across, about 10 1/2" to end of handle and weighs over 1 1/2 pounds. Very good condition, with some verdigris near the loop handle. Signed on bottom as shown. Nice example.

A folky miniature portrait painting of a young man. With his stylish hairdo, high collar, and patterned vest, and pin, the gentleman exemplifies a dandy of the time. The blue hues in the background provide a striking contrast to the relatively monochromatic tones of the sitter.

The miniature is 2 3/8" by 1 3/4" and is housed in its original 2 1/2" by 2" brass case, which also has a lock of hair in the rear aperture. Condition is excellent, with no cracks, bowing, or paint flaking.

An ornate sterling silver English creamer, fully hallmarked for Sheffield 1899-1900. This antique jug measures 2-1/8" high and 4-3/4" across the spout and handle. It has the maker's mark of Fenton Bros. Ltd. and it weighs 74.6 grams...

A repousse sterling silver footed creamer made in Sheffield 1900. It is fully hallmarked for Sheffield, England 1900-1901. This 2-1/4" high serving piece has the maker's mark for either John Deacon & Son or John Dixon & Son, and it weighs 67 grams. This item is in mostly excellent condition with no breaks, corrosion, losses, repairs but it acquired some tiny edge dents on the right and left side edges from a recent disappearance (may need to expand the pictures to see it)...

A pair of English Georgian period sterling silver footed salt cellars or dishes with clear glass liners, fully hallmarked for London, England 1771-2. This antique pair of 2-1/2" diameter salt stands or dips are 1-1/2" high, and they have three hoof design feet. The liners are clear blown glass with a polished pontil, and these salt dips have a maker's mark for Nathaniel Appleton and Anne Smith (London, est. 1771)...

This is a 10-1/2" x 8-1/2" ball-footed swing-handle serving basket fully hallmarked for Sheffield, England 1895-6. Made by James Dixon & Sons, this basket has ornate repousse decoration in the bowl as well as attractive design to the ornate handle. It has a presentation inscription in the centre, as it was presented as a gift in September 1896, and it weighs an impressive 595 grams. Besides the hallmarks, it is also stamped 1618P and B3916, at least one of which refers to the design...

This antique matched pair of 2 gravy or sauce servers measure 7" from the lip to the edge of the handle and they stand 3-3/4" tall to the handle's top; they have the maker's mark for Martin Hall & Co. Ltd. They weigh 343 grams and have a Celtic design G or G monogram. The feet are a simple trefoil shape...

This porcelain plate was produced in Germany by Ernst Teichert Dresden around 1884. The mark is blue under glaze. The plate has a diameter of 9 3/4 inches. There is a 1 3/4 inch reticulated border around the plate. The center has a hand painted scene of lovers in a garden. It is surrounded by a cobalt blue border. Elaborate gilding frames the painted scene. The pierced border has panels with flowers alternating with scrolled decorations. It is all outlined with gold...
