Most likely French, 19th century. The image of an Englishman hunting with a hound was a common image on enamel boxes, especially snuff boxes of the eighteenth century. However, this box clearly dates to the late nineteenth century. The lug and ribbed banding on the metal hinge, as well as the completely hand painted nature of the lid identify this box as a nineteenth century creation.

Most likely French, 19th century. A nineteenth-imitation of the extremely popular souvenir boxes made in Bilston at the end of the eighteenth century (see 5218-18). However, it clearly dates to the late nineteenth century. These memento boxes were popular at the end of the eighteenth century and frequently given as tokens of friendship and love. Usually oval in shape, but also circular and rectangular, the decoration reflected the popular styles of the day. For example, by the 1790s Neoclassical style swags, doves, hearts, and borders were the most commonly used decoration of the day. This one reads "The Absent Not Forgotten."

Sterling Enamel Box with gold wreath on a guilloche cobalt blue enamel ground with gilt interior. Marked .925 on cover and on base. Circa 1890.

Finely crafted French Enamel over brass Vase. Depicting a couple in the countryside. Signed "Gamet, France" along the lower edge, late 19th century period. Size; Height of vase is 7 inches tall, no condition issues noted.

A faïence vase by Cantagalli with silverluster and blue decoration in the Hispano-Moresque or Ottoman style, c 1880-90. Ulysse Cantagalli, Florence, drew his inspiration from Arts and Crafts designers like William de Morgan, from Italian Renaissance and Islamic ceramics. Marked with the singing cockerel of the Cantagalli factory. Height "4 ¾ / 13 cm. Condition: mouth rim with two minimal glaze flakes, and a glaze burst near the foot rim (cf. pics).

A Set of Three Nove Faience Monteiths. Each well painted with various floral bouquets. Nove mid 19thC. Length of largest 11 1/4" (28.6 cm) the smaller pair are 9 1/2" (24.3 cm). Condition: all three are in excellent condition

A larger than usual maiolica dry jug jar painted on the front with the scene of Saint Martin dividing his cloak with a beggar. On the back is the cypher for the Carthusian order and the date 1700. Unfortunately it is highly unlikely that this is the date of manufacture for the jar, which is almost certainly from the late 19th century and is loosely based on the series of jars that were made from 1697 into the early 18th century...

A large faience shoe, lady’s high heel model, the white ground decorated with floral ropes, roses in bunches, and the toe resembling embroidery. The painting is the palate and tone typical of late 19th century Le Nove at their best. It is 4 5/8 inches (12 cm) tall, 8 5/8 inches (22 cm) long and 2 7/8 inches (7.5 cm) wide...

Very rare antique 19th century (c1880) luster glaze majolica vase by Ulisse Cantagalli of Firenze, Italy. An impressive large two-handled lustre vase in Islamic Hispano - Moresque, Moorish Alhambra style decorated in cobalt blue with raised pseudo-Arabic calligraphy in Thuluth script and various animals, foliage and birds painted in white on the copper luster ground.

Marked at the base with the Cantagalli cockerel...

A large deep dish with hand painted blue lines and blue hand applied stencil flowers, roses in the center and flowers (possibly peony) and foliage around the rim. Early Doccia (circa 1750) had stenciled blue flowers on both maiolica and porcelain. I suspect that those pieces or similarly decorated mid-18th century ceramics were the inspiration for this piece...

A beautiful, hand-painted, seven-piece water glass set, made most probably by the Bohemian glass-maker, Carl Hosch, a contemporary of Moser. The set is decorated with typical art nouveau floral motif. The set is in very good condition (there is one nick on one glass and a couple of pin-pricks on another). Polished pontil. The jug is 12 inches (30,5 cm) tall with a base width of 5 1/2 inches (14 cm). Each glass is 8 inches (20,3 cm) tall and has a top-diameter of 2 1/4 inches (5,7 cm).

A rare Judaic ceremonial set, made by Moser around 1900. The ornately decorated set, on Venetian glass blanks, consists of an ewer and six glasses. The ewer is 13 inches (33 cm) tall and each glass is 4 inches (10 cm) tall. The glass is in excellent condition (there is a small amount of expected, age-appropriate fading to the gold-gilt - see pictures)...

Offered is this rare hand-enameled, marbled glass vase, made by Loetz around 1893 - this 'Malachit' glass was meant to emulate the natural stone, malachite. Loetz presented 'Malachit' glass vases in the World Symposiums in Chicago and Antwerp in 1893 and 1894 respectively. This vase is 10 1/2 inches (26,5 cm) tall, 6 1/2 inches (16,5 cm) wide and 4 inches (10 cm) deep...

Offered is this beautiful, coralene-decor, Bohemian glass vase, made by Moser. Excellent condition. It is approximately 9 3/4 inches (25 cm) tall. Similar items are shown in Baldwin's book on Moser glass (see last picture).
