This magnificent handcrafted Art Nouveau figural brass letter opener is the nicest one I have seen, with intricate detailed "Spirit of Life" maiden wearing a flowing, draped gown, one arm resting on back of head, the other catching her windswept gown, standing on a base of sinewy bark surrounded by clover, circa 1890's, very heavy. Measurements: 10 in. high. Condition is near perfect.

Strong EA Bliss elements and design yet unsigned. This reminds one of this maker's work. Richly ornate. What wonderful pieces these sash ornament buckle pin brooches can be!

A hand hammered brass teapot with rattan wrapped handle, probably Germany, c 1910. Together with a burner by Jan Eisenlöffel, c 1900. A fun pressed brass picture frame in the form of an early automobile. The frame is cleverly designed with vanishing point perspective to appear three dimensional. Apparently, it was originally a desk calendar and the original calendar inserts from 1907 have been used as a backing for the current photograph.

This porcelain demitasse cup and saucer was produced in England by Royal Crown Derby before 1906. There are date ciphers for 1904 on the saucer and 1906 on the cup. It would be within the Edwardian period. The saucer has a diameter of 4 7/8 inches and the cup is 2 1/8 inches high. The set is made of fine, translucent bone china. Wonderful old English tin trade piece depicting Mr Jorrocks toting his horn on horseback with his trusty hound. Quite large. Mr Jorrocks measures 28" tall by 33" long and the hound measures 7" tall by 25" long. A thin flexible metal. Has some dings, dents, frayed, bent edges and nail holes.

Three lobed shamrocks happily travel around the parameter of this circa 1900 brass sash buckle pin ornament with a faux hasp and early C catch. While these wear worn then on waist sashes to give the appearance of a buckle, their versatility allows one to wear them on any article of clothing.

This set of 13 porcelain luncheon plates was produced in England by Royal Crown Derby in 1905. The date cipher indicates this year. Two artists signed the plates, E. Clark and C. Harris. The plates measure 8 7/8” in diameter. The fine white bone china is molded, rounding out the center and giving it depth. The rims are contoured so that the plates are divided into 6 segments. A wonderful solid brass humidor, the top embossed with the double eagle insignia of Russia's Imperial Romanov family, and the front embossed with the double lions rampant of the British Empire. The top, front and sides are enhanced with scalloped punchwork borders. The box is raised on claw feet. The interior has a removable tin liner and a perforated platform that was used to keep a moist sponge separated from the surface of the cigars.

A molded porcelain figure of a man in 18th century dress turned slightly to his right to warm his hands over a flaming brazier, emblematic of winter. The figure is marked on the base with the underglaze blue “F.” for Furstenberg. It also has the impressed marks A.a.M for a later production of the model which has the impressed number 85. 7 3/8 inches (19 cm) tall.

Condition: excellent except for the amputation of the fingertips of the right hand.

Porcelain hand painted figure of a musician playing a lute(?). The original by Bustelli was modeled in the mid-18th century. This is a later copy, after 1887 when the factory was taken over by Albert Baumi and the old models revived. Nymphenburg shield and the numbers 59 and 0 impressed on the underside. 4 5/8 inches (11.7 cm) tall and 5 3/8 inches (13.5 cm) across the base.

Condition: undamaged except for three of the four tuning pegs and part of the red bow on his left shoe missing.

Oval cut and polished agate bowl with an engraved brass mount. The setting is decorated with cranes and plum blossoms, of Japanese inspiration.
