A blue transfer printed “Stone China” or ironstone dinner plate by John and William Ridgway, marked on the back with the pattern and ‘J. W. R.” 10 ¼ inches (26 cm) diameter. Gadroon edge and good clear printing in dark blue. Circa 1820.

Condition: No cracks or hairlines. Two chips to the foot ring and a minute flake to the glaze on the rim and one at the edge of the well. Very minor knife scratches.

A pretty leaf shaped serving dish by Royal Copenhagen. Panted decoration of flowers, the twig handle with a rose and a forget-me-not flower in relief – the same as the handles used in the famous Flora Danica service. Impressed mark 2 and S, and the three waves of the manufacture in the version used around 1890. Length "7 1/5 / 18.5 cm. Condition: damage to the petals of the little forget-me-not flower.

Three plates with a blind molded basket weave border and swirled ribs the way Coalport molded plates in the early part of the 19th century. The hand painted flowers in a central bouquet and four single flowers on the lip are very much in the early Coalport style. The plates are 9 ¼ inches (23.5 cm) in diameter.

This ceramic box with brass mounts was produced in France by Gien around 1875. It is 6 1/2 inches high and has a diameter of 4 1/4 inches. The ceramic is soft paste with a tin glaze similar to majolica. If you run your fingers around the piece, you can actually feel the enamel painting. It is richly decorated with cherubs, fountains, and ornate scrolls, all on a cobalt blue background. The designs are all hand painted. This porcelain box was produced in Germany by Meissen in the late 19th century. It has first quality crossed swords on the bottom. The box measures 4 1/2” long, 3” wide and 2 1/2” deep, The lid had a finely hand painted bull finch bir perched in a blue berry branch. The coloring is vibrant and the style realistic. Little flying insects dot the bottom half of the box. The rims are trimmed with gold. Condition: Very slight wear to gilding on edge. There are no other defects.

Elegant pair of Chinese export porcelain soup plates decorated with a floral scene in the famille rose palette. Pheasants, beetles and butterflies are scattered among the pink peonies, orange pomegranates and blue-green bamboo stalks. The rim is decorated with a striking band of blue and gold strapwork in the Persian taste. The contrast of the restrained formal border pattern against the exuberant naturalistic design of the bowl is striking.

Pretty French faience plate exuberantly decorated with vases of carnations, sprays of bluebells and colorful insects. The plate has a deep rim and the edges are finished in a nice curved pattern. The back of the plate is marked "Jardin" in underglaze blue.
