An earthenware transfer printed in colors plate with a floral border and the scene of a young woman riding a donkey sidesaddle while another well dressed woman stands by. The number “8” appears in a small cartouche above the scene and the title, “Promeade á âne.” The mark on the back seems unreadable, but looks just like an impressed mark for the French manufacturer Montereau and the date of around 1850 is maybe a little late but about right...

A stoneware dinner plate with a shaped edge transfer printed in light blue with an elaborate floral border on the lip and an equally elaborate alpine view with flowers and chalet in the well. On the back a floral cartouche with the title, “Genevese” in the center and “Opaque China” on the lower edge with a script capital “A.” This pattern was made by Minton with the letter “M,” this plate was probably made by them with a different letter. English circa 1830...

An underglaze blue hand painted ”Ronda” pattern soft paste porcelain plate with a deep molded rib border and barbed edge. Though unmarked the painted pattern and the distinctive molding are typical of Tournai. The diameter is 8 inches (20.32 cm).

English W. Adams, Lorraine Brown Transferware Ironstone Dish, deeper Plate, Ca. 1840, 8 1/2" diameter, 1 3/8" high, pleasant scenery with cows buildings behind within wide floral and vine design border, crazing on the glaze, the condition is good.

Pretty late Victorian porcelain child's cup. One side has a polychrome transfer image of a playful dog, while the other shows another dog with a blue ribbon around his neck. The rim and handle are decorated with gilt bands. Porcelain cups such as these were prized by Victorian children. The bottom is marked "Germany".

Eight(8) American Porcelain "K T & T, Knowledge, Taylor & Knowledge" from from "East Liverpool", "Ohio" Dessert Plates, Pre 1900, 8" diameter, with hand painted Bouquets of Flower design, marked "K. T. & T. China." and pattern date and numbers in green on the back. There are some glaze stains on the bottom in some of the plates but front decorated surface shows in good condition.

Two(2) Lenox Porcelain Saucers, Cobalt Blue and Gold rim, Ca. 1910, with Green "Lenox" mark and "Bailey Bankers & Biddle Co. Philadelphia" in green, 4 1/4" diameter, 1/2" high, with etched brilliant Gold rim and Cobalt Blue inner rim. The condition is good.

A cup and deep saucer in the bamboo pattern with an early printed Spode mark on the cup. The transfer design was applied over glaze by the “pluck and dust” method of transferring color followed by hand painting of the gilding. The color is referred to in the Spode literature as, “chestnut brown,” though this one has a reddish tint. Saucer 5 ½ inches diameter, cup 2 inches tall.

Condition: no chips, cracks, hairlines or repairs. Very minor gilding wear.

English Transferware Plate, marked "E. Challinor", "Dora" red Transferware Plate, Ca. 1856, 8 1/2" diameter, cows, sheeps and farm house scenery, very pleasant farm animals and houses, and crazing glaze on the surface on the some spots, condition is good.

Ceramic or porcelain, this is a shallow bowl that might have been used for serving foods, measuring at the extreme dimensions 12 3/4" by 8 3/4" by 2" deep. The central design of flowers is hand painted, as is, I think, the gold decoration. As a paintings specialist this is not within my expertise, so I hope to be describing it correctly...

A 7-1/2" German or Austrian porcelain hand painted figurine of a bugler. This mid to late 19th century figure features fine hand painting with gold, orange, blue, tan and realistic flesh colours; it is in a style similar to Heubach figures, but many European factories of this period were producing such figures, and it has a shiny rather than matte glaze...

Soft paste porcelain luncheon or salad plate, 8 3/8 inches (20.32 cm) diameter, with hand painted underglaze medium blue in the “Ronda” pattern. Though unmarked, the pattern, the color and the deep molded swirled ribs and basketweave border are distinctively Tournai. The underglaze blue “2” on the back is probably the mark of the painter.

Crazing on the glaze, the condition is good.

This plate is transfer printed with a shaded pink ground; it has a pseudo Sevres mark and it could be American or European. This is a fine Georgian period English tea cup and saucer dish, one of a pair, unmarked, but probably Hilditch ca. 1825. The pedestal cup, with London bone china style handle, is decorated with a simple scrolling border and stylized leaves in shades of aqua and puce; the matching saucer is deeply dished, which is typical of the period. This is a Victorian Staffordshire-style spill vase, of biscuit porcelain shaded to pale green, spill vases were placed on a fireplace mantle to hold spills---the small wood or paper splinters used to obtain light from a fire; modeled as 3 knarled trees joined by leafy branches; surface cracks; 6" high.

A nicely decorated lobed dinner plate with an off center bouquet of bright flowers in the well of the plate, two sprays of flowers on the lip and a reddish-purple rim. A little green bud near the rim covers a firing flaw. Diameter 9 7/8 inches (25 cm). Underglaze blue mark of crowned interlaced Cs.

Condition; very good and little wear. A short hairline crack from the rim goes about an inch into the plate.

Bright colors and interesting that no gilding was used.

A lobed dinner plate with a gilt rim, a gilt circle entwined with floral ropes on the lip and a worn monogram enclosed by a blue circle wrapped with a gilt wreath in the well. Diameter 9 1/8 inches (23 cm). Marked in underglaze blue on the back with the Seguin factory mark. The factory was active in Vincennes from roughly 1779 to 1788.

Condition: Enough wear to the enamel painting in the well to be distracting. There are internal and rim hairlines.

Offered is a lovely pair of late 18th Century, just after Dr. Wall Period, Worcester blue and white porcelain teabowls, in the Argument pattern. One teabowl has a small chip to the interior rim and a corresponding even smaller nibble on the outside in the same spot. The other teabowl appears to be free of damage, and has a crisper design as well. These are quite lovely. A set of three pink luster English porcelain tea saucers. The steeply angled sides are decorated with underglaze pink luster decoration as well as green and iron red flowers. In the first part of the 19th century, hot tea was poured from the cup into the saucer to cool before being drunk directly from the saucer. The bottoms are marked with decorators’ numbers.

Origin: England, ca. 1830. Condition: very good, normal wear to pink luster decoration; no chips or cracks. Size: 5-1/2” diam...

A porcelain dinner plate decorated with a gilt rim, a gilt rope with flowers on the lip and floral sprays in the well. Marked in overglaze red enamel on the back “B/Potter/1” The mark is probably from around 1794 for the short lived partnership of Potter and Blancheron.

Condition: Two hairlines and some stacking wear

A Furstenberg hard paste porcelain cup and saucer decorated with bands and sprigs of sepia and black flowers with gilt rims and highlights. Both pieces are marked with an underglaze script F and a number (9). The arched handle is typical of early 19th century tea wares. The style continued in the middle of the century, though this style of sepia decoration is more usual in the earlier part of the century. Saucer 5 ½ inches (14 cm) diameter, cup 2 ¾ inches (7 cm) tall.

Condition: no cracks ...

A powder blue ground cup with elaborate gilding and two reserved oval panels on opposite sides with a spray of European flowers. Unusual for Chinese Export porcelain the two panels are recess molded. Other examples of this period exist with molding in the body, this ground and elaborate gilding. The inspiration is European, probably German, perhaps Meissen. The cup is 2 inches (5 cm) tall and 3 ½ inches (9 cm) diameter.

This porcelain place card holder was produced in Italy by Capodimonte in the late 19th century. It is 3 3/4 inches high and 2 1/2 inches wide. The back is molded like branches into a tripod. The front has naked putti in high relief, making mischief. They are hand painted. Condition: Excellent
