An impressive and well-designed antique Bohemian glass paperweight. The bullet-shaped weight encloses a large central red, white and blue lily surrounded by three smaller lilies, all emanating from a speckled glass pot at the base. The area just above the pot has a thin film of green glass to suggest foliage. The weight is ornately faceted into a bullet-shape. The glass is quite heavy and clear. Antique second half of the 19th century Bohemian hand-blown clear cut-glass decanter and stopper made for the Middle Eastern, Persian and Ottoman market. Although not marked, this art glass piece bears the styling and quality of Victorian pieces made by the Stevens and Williams Ltd of England and in the 1870s under the direction of John Northwood (son Harry Northwood was a glass maker in America). Offered are these two beautiful, hand-painted Victorian glass ewers. The amber-colored thumbprint jug is 8 3/4 inches tall and 6 3/4 inches wide. The Mary Gregory one is 8 inches tall and 7 inches wide. Both ewers were blown (has pontil-bottoms - see last two pictures) and are without chips, cracks or repairs. Both jugs fluoresce a gentle green when exposed to long-wavelength black-light, showing that they are made of late 19th century soda-lime glass blanks.

A beautiful hyacinth bulb vase by the Boston & Sandwich Glass Company, decorated in opaque overlay cut to clear in in a panel and trailing vine design. The top is enhanced with a cobalt blue lip and the bottom is slightly footed and star-cut. The overall form is very elegant. The shape was blown in the company's #123 mold and the cutting is identical to known labeled pieces. Vases of this shape were used to hold a single flowering bulb, usually a hyacinth, but sometimes a daffodil or tulip.
