A wine glass with a large flared bell bowl with a solid base. The stem is of the multiple spiral air twist (MSAT) type, above a conical foot. 6 7/8 inches tall, bowl diameter 3 inches, foot diameter 2 7/8 inches. Perfect condition and the discrepancy between the bowl and foot diameters is due to the large flare of the bowl.

A beautifully fashioned English antique firing dram glass. Most glasses of this type (opaque twist firing glasses) have an ogee or ovoid bowl, as opposed to this funnel, or conical, type. The lower half of the bowl is fluted, while the stem contains a double series opaque twist comprised of a pair of spiral threads outside of a central gauze.

A nice English double series opaque twist (DSOT) wine glass, c 1765. This glass features a flared bucket bowl over a stem containing a 12 ply spiral band ouside of a pair of spiral tapes. The conical foot has a rough, snapped pontil.

The height is 6 1/2 inches, the bowl diameter is 2 3/4 inches, and the foot diameter is 3 1/16 inches. No repairs or condition problems.

A lovely antique crystal plaque by Baccarat encasing a sulphide or "cameo incrustation" of the "Madonna and Child". This particular sulphide is one of the two known depictions of Mary and Jesus used by Baccarat during the classic period of paperweight production. A very good Classic Period glass paperweight with a pinchbeck design. The scene depicts the "Descent from the Cross" and shows two centurions, Joseph of Arimathea and Nicodemus taking the body from the cross while Mary weeps at Jesus' feet. The pinchbeck insert is finished in a silver tone rather than the more common gold. The crystal dome is of very good quality, with excellent clarity and good optical magnification to highlight the detail of the scene...

Offered is this superb, hand-painted English vitrified glass vase, made by Richardson around 1850. The vase has Etruscan paintings. It is signed on its polished pontil - Richardson's signature of vitrified glass objects is shown on page 447 of Charles R. American Brilliant Cut Glass Pitcher richly cut with deep vessicas, stars, and other embellishments. The bulbous body tapers to wide neck with scalloped rim. The attached heavily faceted handle has a flat top. The underside has 32 point star. The blank is very clear. Condition is superb. Marked Libbey on the handle top. This pitcher is a superior example of brilliant cut glass in general but of hollow ware in particular. Height: 7 1/2"

A very good fruit bouquet paperweight by the New England Glass Company. Four pears alternate with cherries and foliage around a central pear. The lampwork fruit is particularly nice in this weight. The bouquet is presented against a spiraling double latticinio basket. The dome is high and offers nice magnification. The crystal is a bit sugary, as is typical of many NEGC weights. The concave base has a wide basal ring.

This is a rare applied butterfly (Marquetry) box, made by Bohemian master, Ludwig Moser, around 1885. Like typical Moser objects from that epoch, the box is unsigned. But such applied-glass-motif objects were made by Moser and Harrach in Bohemia and Thomas Webb in England (refer to Baldwin's book on Moser glass). Under black-light, the box fluoresces a gentle greenish color, so the glass blank is definitely of Bohemian origin. The box is 3 1/4 inches (8,3 cm) tall and 3 1/2 inches (9 cm) wide...

The blossoms are worked in shades of cream, yellow, rose and violet, while the foliage is stained a reddish-purple and highlighted with complex lacy gilding.
