A delightful bronze dresser mirror, the entire frame ornately decorated in the form of two Pierrot figures and a smiling man-in-the-moon. Pierrot was a originally a Comedia dell’Arte character, but in the 18th century, he and the moon became inextricably linked in the French children’s song, “Au Claire de la Lune.” There are a few variations of this mirror; this is the most ornate, with the intricately beveled glass. Circa 1880 French bronze champleve enamel inkwell with delicately hand-painted bird scenes. It sits on 4 bun feet and is in excellent condition. All enameling is intact with the darkest red color being a beautiful clear wine red (which tends to look a darker/duller in our photos). This lovely inkwell measures 7 inches across and 3" high.

Finely executed early 20th century bronze figure of a young girl on her back playing with ball, 4 inches wide and 3.5 inches high, in great condition.

An absolutely delightful bronze calling card tray, the center designed with a small frog atop a traditional baroque-style wave. The top edge of the dish has a wonderful scene of four frogs riding big-wheel bicycles along a road. They have quite good balance, as all have their arms crossed. The lead frog is even smoking a pipe. Road markers reading “2Km” and “3Km” mark their progress...

A renaissance bronze figure, Italian, Venice, and in a superb style with the stylistic hallmark of the Roccatagliata workshop, c. 16th.- early 17th. century.

The figure is made of bell metal and depicts a Cupid with spread wings holding a scroll with the portrait bust of Christ. He is standing on a stepped podium and mounted to a heavy black base.

Size: 15 cm. tall including the black stone base and 10,4 cm. for the figure alone.

Gorgeous oval bronze jewel box from Russia's Imperial era, the top decorated with opaque champleve enamels. The box is decorated around the bottom edge with a row of cast beads. This decorative element is repeated on the lid. The lid is decorated with typically Russian arabesques worked in five shades of enamel. Exposed areas of bronze around the enameling is further decorated with floral and bright-cut engraving. The interior of the box retains its original royal blue silk velvet lining...

From our European Collection, a fine and elegant 19th century bronze tazza, probably French, featuring well-cast leonine head motifs with twisted serpentine handles, supported upon a tapering circular pedestal base with some very attractive and realistically cast floral motifs. This piece has acquired a nice chocolate-brown patina across most of the surfaces.
