Very nice sterling silver sugar spoon with a plique-a-jour enamel handle decorated in three shades of translucent enamel. The matte gilt bowl has a rounded spade shape. The twist handle opens into a stained-glass like terminal. Plique-a-jour enameling was usually reserved for more delicate pieces like demitasse spoons, so a sugar spoon is rather uncommon. Unmarked, but probably European.

Ca. 1880. Condition: excellent, no enamel damage, original gilding. Size: 5-9/16” long.

Victorian silver plated sugar tongs in the Gothic Revival taste. Each of the twisted sides is decorated with a woman (who looks curiously like a nun) holding a child, and an angel-like figure. The oval tips are gilt.

Origin: probably Continental, circa 1880. Condition: excellent. Size: 4-3/8" long.

American brilliant-cut glass and sterling silver decanter. Made by Gorham in Providence in 1894. Round body with thumb ring handle. Cut ornament in arched frames. Collar silver as is hinged and cork-lined cover with floral repousse. On cover is engraved block monogram and dates “1870 W. G. C. 1895”. Fully marked including no. S1744 and date symbol. Very good condition.

A Cellini Craft Arts & Crafts sterling ladle. This finely crafted Georg Jensen style sterling gravy ladle was made by the American Cellini Craft company of Chicago in the 1930s. This 6-1/4" ladle has a 2-1/4" wide bowl and a hand hammered finish on all surfaces; it has a looping arch of silver with nodes terminating in a ball which stands proud of the handle and is reminiscent of the Georg Jensen style...

Absolutely beautiful, very heavy, sterling tray.  It measures 22" long x 14 1/2" wide x 1" tall and weighs 2045 grams.  It is heavily decorated with flowers and leaves.  It is marked on the bottom "sterling" with what appears to be a beehive.  It is rare to find a sterling tray of this weight and beauty.

English Georgian Classical sterling silver ewer, 18th century. Girdled ovoid bowl and scrolled helmet mouth with beaded and flowering strapwork rim; cast double-scroll handle with Venus, her torso undraped offering grapes to recumbent Cupid. Satyr head applied to spout exterior. Chased leaf borders. Gilt-washed interior. Marked. Very good condition with deep patina.

A Matched Set of Four George II Silver Open Salts. The Set was assayed in London in 1747, makers mark illegible. The dimensions are 3" across and 1 1/2" high. They stand on three cabriole legs and weigh a total of 9 Troy ounces. There is a small crest in the front of each. Minor imperfections, but in very good condition overall.

Edwardian Classical sterling silver trinket box. Made by Howard & Co. in New York in 1901. Oval with straight sides and flat hinged cover. Leafing scrollwork applied to sides and cover top, which also has centrally mounted cherub’s head. Reeded rims with applied leaf border. Fully marked including maker’s stamp, year, and no. 1465. Lovely Victorian bonbon spoon by Gorham in the 1894 “Imperial Chrysanthemum” pattern. The ornate handle is decorated with chrysanthemum blossoms, while the gilt bowl is pierced with a pattern suggesting chrysanthemum foliage. The back of the handle is as ornate at the front. The back is marked with old Gorham hallmark.

Elegant crystal trivet with a sterling silver overlay in an orchid pattern. The piercing of the silver is highlighted with engraved details. The center has a silver reserve that was never monogrammed. The side is hallmarked by Webster Silver Co. This trivet is in the harder to find large size.

Cover hinged with tapering tab; top gently curved with engine-turned wave ornament bordered by fretwork, and centrally mounted gold ring inset with word “CIGARS”. A very attractive late 19th century first standard (950/1000 pure silver) wine taster by Parisian silversmith Louis Coignet. The tastevin is decorated in the Bourgogne style with an applied handle in snake form. The serpent is beautifully decorated with engraved scales and eyes. The sides are enhanced with repousse and chased decoration of grape clusters and vine leaves. This example is classic form, but has a very steep convex bottom and no “godrons” or “perles” along the sides...

Very rare sterling silver oyster ladle in Whiting's classic 1880 "Bead" pattern. The simplicity of the handle decoration is relieved by the ruffled edge of the bowl. It's simplicity enables the pattern to work with a wide range of other American Colonial-inspired patterns. The oyster ladle form is quite rare, as only the most complete silver services ever had such serving pieces. Hallmarked with Whiting's early hallmark and "Pat Appd For" (indicating an early date).

Late Victorian sterling silver olive spoons/spears such as this are the perfect accompaniment for a sophisticated bar set-up.
