Amazing pair of antique black forest carved wall sconces. Hand carved heavy walnut with incredible intricacy. Birds, leaves and scalloping. 14" tall, 8" deep. Couple missing pieces, but very complete. Excellent condition for age and detail.

A beautifully-detailed 19th Century Anglo-Indian desk set elaborately carved in ebony with a center storage box topped by a fabulous carved elephant with ivory tusks, one drawer, and lion paw feet. Unusually large 19th Century ivory page turner, smooth blade with a large tapered grip handle. The Victorians used page turners to protect the pages of valuable books from damage; they were also used to protect the hands from newsprint. Measurement: length: 18 3/4 inches. Condition: 1/2 inch crack at tip end of handle. This item cannot be shipped out of the country.

Papier maché and mother of pearl plaque depicting the romantic ruins of medieval Llanthony Priory in Wales. Probably part of a Victorian portrait case and made by Jennens & Bettridge around 1840. Jennens (sometimes Jennings) and Bettridge, originally based in Birmingham, were famous for their beautiful papier maché products and had stores in New York and Paris as well. Their mother of pearl inlay was covered with tinted varnish as to create an iridescent effect...

Stunning Imperial Russian lacquered tea caddy. The top is handpainted with a scene of a Boyar cradling a princess in his arms as they ride a large wolf through the forest--no doubt a scene from a Russian fairy tale. The quality of decoration is superb. The inside of the caddy is lacquered red.

Red Lacquered Papier Mache Pencil Box, beautifully painted of children at play in gold and other soft colors near the bridge, 1 1/4" high, 8 5/8" x 3 3/4" wide. This pencil box has divided interior and hinged top with small round brass button in front to operate the openings and closing when you push the brass button. The lacquer painting on top of the lid is in good condition. There are some red lacquer losses under the top and inside.

A 19th C black lacquered Victorian papier-mache tabletop box with a gold Chinoiserie scene. The lid is decorated with monks in a Chinese style garden where as the sides are decorated with noble families at leisure in a similar Chinese garden. What makes this box special are the monks on the lid and detailed decorations on all 4 sides. Measure 11.75" long, 2.75" high, and 3.5" wide

A Victorian Coal Bin or Scuttle of Mahogany Wood with Brass Handle Fittings and Brass Knob on Hinged Front Lid; Fitted Removable Metal Interior. Dimensions; 13" wide x 10.5" high x 17.5" deep. Some limited damage to top (see picture) but otherwise in very good condition. American, circa 1880-1900.

A large and rare antique, circa 1850, French casein tortoise shell casket with bronze ormolu framework featuring a working lock with key. The casein was applied over mahogany or rosewood creating a sturdy chest. Inside is the original silk lining perfectly intact. This chest is superbly crafted and very well preserved, there is just a little wear on the top and wear to the gold gilt on the bronze ormolu consistent with its age...

Large antique, 18th century, American Revolutionary war period, Pennsylvania Dutch rifleman's powder horn (1770s-1780).

It is made of a hollowed-out brown horn with a domed oval wood base secured with brass tacks and fitted with a brass loop in the center for a suspension cord.

The body is engraved in the middle with the initials J.R.K...

Black Papier Mache wall hanger for spoon or pipe, late 1800's, 9 3/4" wide, 1 3/4" deep, 4 1/4" high, with gold leaves and red berries and floral hand painted Lacquer decoration, fluted shape with nine(9) round open holes, can be folded flat for storage with metal hinge, the condition shows some wear and tear but no major damage. Miniature Eastlake design carved wood and upholstery sofa with 8 legs. It measures 20 1/4" long by 9 1/2" high by 6" deep. The wood has a mahogany reddish stain and the printed fabric is upholstery grade. The colors of the fabric are a beige background with blue and yellow stripes and red and green flowers. The condition is very good except for one side - see last photo. There is a crack in the wood on the one side and one leg. Otherwise, perfect...

Finely detailed carved ivory monkey face, c.1920's. He appears to be laughing with open mouth and measures 1 9/16" in diameter. There an open crack due to age at the top left -see photo #2. Box in black lacquered wood inlaid with mother-of-pearl, golden details. The decor is composed of birds among plants and shrubs. The birds are very active, the one in the center tends to what appears to be a stylized egg in a nest? Probably a meaning. The designs are simple but harmonious and very elegant. The inlay work is empirical but the materials used are solide and they have stood the test of time well indeed the lacquer has not peeled off and the mother-of-pearl is still well maintained...

This extraordinary wood carving is a figure of Santo Nino enveloped in an oval cartouche with swirling flourishes above and below. Nino is robed in dramatic array as she holds a globe in one while giving the sign of Christ in the other. The drapery and decoration of it is exceptional as is the rich relief carving. A black lacquered papier mâché wine coaster, the sides enhanced with an unusual gilt pattern of stylized grape leaves and tendrils along with thistles. The decoration is in excellent condition, with a nice warm patina.
