This Dark blue and white towel is 11 1/2" by 16 1/2" with sides hand hemmed. It has a few light brown stains in two places. This is a great size for a table mat or as a guest towel. The pattern and color are pleasing to the eye. C.1840

A fine multicolored velvet ikat from Uzbekistan, carefully mounted on acid free fabric. The condition is quite fine with one very small area with some thread separation, and the sight size is 20 1/2" by 15 1/2".

Pair of wonderful cotton knit striped socks the heal hand worked. The colors and mustard yellow, blue and white stripes. Some of the hand sewing in the heal is lose or is partly out. No holes and I doubt they have been worn much at all. 28" long and circa 1880

This is a very nice egg wash chintz brown calico bag with a tan linen lining. It has a ribbon trim across the top and around the edges of the bag. The edges only have a little of the ribbon trim left, it has worn off over the years. The bag is in really good shape and is not fragile, it could be really used. Or great to use to store items while hanging off a hook or peg rack. 10" by 13" not including the straps. Circa 1870-80

This is what I call a down home or servicable antique pot holder. It looks like a odd apple with a tummy sash. It is sewn nicely but with a childish feeling to it. I am sure it was used but care was taken with it. The loop at the top looks original. It is a very nice naive pot holder from the 1840's. It is 4" by 5". I love seeing these hung.

Turkmenistan Tekke Bokhara Trible Rug, Before 1910, approximately 6' x 4', all wool hand knotted and flat weave like kilim, beautiful tiny Tekke Bokhara designs throughout the entire rug, the tiny knots are so fine and exact, back side is almost like front, all 4 side edges are in good condition, no worn spots anywhere and very clean.

A fine example of a textile fragment from a 17th century chausable, purple cut velvet in a geometric vine design on a yellow background, mounted on silk. Overall fine condition, with a sight size of 18" by 18 1/2".

This is a pair of linen homespun pillow cases that are more like show towels. The linen is very finely woven, the pulled thread work, borders the top and bottom of the name and date. The embroidered name and date is done in a wool floss and has not done as well with use as the body of the pillow case. Her name is Barbara Wismer, I think, and the date is 1829. There is no question they were used and laundered but they are in great condition with a bit of age related toning in places...

A beautiful and very early 18th century bizarre silk fragment, from a chausable of the period. Vegetal and flower motifs in polychrome silk, silver and gold thread on a salmon ground, the entire piece mounted on cotton. Excellent overall condition, with some expected oxidation of the metallic threads. The panel itself is 28" in length, and 9 3/4" at its widest. The mounted size is 30 1/4" by 11 1/4"...

A Berlin Embroidery handbag with hall marked solid silver clasp, made in Germany circa 1900-1910. Condition - very good - no damages or losses...

Twelve eight pointed stars made of cotton printed in orange with small yellow clover-like shapes arranged in rows of twos and threes with alternating white squares all enclosed in three bands of the same printed fabric. The outside band is turned over the edge to join the white cotton backing. Cotton seeds visible in the stuffing. All hand stitched. Very good quilting with running feathers and cross stitching over much of the surface. There is an embroidered, “E” on the back in one corner...

Persian Sarouk Wool hand knotted large size Carpet, Ca. 1910, 10 1/2' x 15', very small hand knots for large carpet with dark blue and dark maroon reddish colors mainly, very rich and deep colors of floral and vines spread out on the soft wool surface which is evenly worn over the years. Two(2) shaped panels design on both ends and bordered by beautiful soft colors of typical Sarouk small patterns...

An antique traditional women's folk costume headdress from Bavaria called "Priener Hut". The outside covered with black velvet, both sides with a pair tassels worked in gold wires, frippery and glass beads. The underside of the hat brim with splendid goldwork in gold and silver wires decorated with glass beads. The sides with the long, often missing, embroidered velvet and silk ribbons. Green silk lining and maker's label "Therese Allinger - Hutgeschäft - Obing"...

An exceptional and rare Italian cut and voided velvet panel, probably Genovese, done in a dark green on a beige foundation. The motif features mythological animals and urns, all surrounded by foliate scrolls.

The condition is quite fine, even for a textile 250 years younger. The length is 64 1/2", with a width of 10 1/2".

A superb piece for display or use as an accent, and should appeal to collectors and decorators.

This is the upper part of a kamishimo; samurai's formal attire without the trousers. It was worn over a kosode (kimono with small sleeves) with trousers. The texture is hemp like; coarse, slightly translucent, thick threads (thicker than other kamishimo). The family crest is the feathers of a hawk. This Sisters' bonnet is black bonnet was probably for special occasions. Over the black silk is a fine black mesh even over the neck ruffle. The bonnet is lined with purple silk that was meant not to show as it is inside the bonnet and the underside of the neck ruffle. It does have some wear around the front edge of the bonnet where the material has pulled away a bit. The netting has some area on the neck ruffle that are rough but in general is displays well. A beautiful and vibrant chausable set from the mid 18th century, comprised of the chausable, the maniple, the chalice cover, and mat. The deep, rich purple damask of the material is set off by the intricate embroidered orphrey on the chausable and maniple. Even the cover and mat, made of the same damask, have embroidered crosses on them, and are bordered with metallic thread. Overall condition is very good, with some scattered splits and stains.

Antique (19th Century) Central or Western Anatolian prayer or altar kilim, in beautiful condition. 3'4" by 7'2". All natural dyes, complete sides and ends. Two well done old repairs lower left. From a design standpoint this kilim is arranged like an Obruk kilim (the pointed hooked mirhab topped with a tree of life design, and flanked in the spandrels by two more such designs). However the color palette and the feel are not typically Obruk. From a Charlotte, NC estate.

A Khotan Coffered Gul Carpet - Late Eighteenth Century, N.W. China Size 6'3". x 3'3"

This is a very interesting piece created by an early artist very skilled in needlework: an oval shaped map of England and Wales and small parts of Ireland, Scotland and France, the oval measuring approximately 19 1/2" by 17" (about 27" by 22 1/2" in the vintage gold frame). Judging from the seated figure of Britannia and the lettering and overall handling, I'd estimate this to date to the late 18th or early 19th century. A fine cotton exemplar textile fragment from Perugia, Italy, dating back to the 16th century. Foliage and mythological figures, distinctive themes used in Perugia, cover the piece which has been carefully mounted on a cotton covered board.

Overall condition is very fine, with some minor and easily cleaned surface dirt. The size is 21" by 9".
