This intricately woven gold necklace with enameled serpent biting its tail, known as an ouroboros, is classically Georgian and circa 1790. Woven gold necklaces like this one took weeks to make and created enormous precision and painstaking detail. In this stunning suite of necklace and earrings, almandine garnets set in gilt metal are fashioned into a striking pair of earrings and choker with drop, which can be removed. The choker is tied on with a ribbon. Much of the jewelry of this period was set with pastes. These pieces are unusual in that gemstones were used. Rare and important head of a bearded centurion wearing his helmet, his face showing a strong and fierce expression. Polychrome wood. Eyes made of glass painted inside. Dating from the early 1700s before Meissen starting using their cross swords logo is this very rare Meissen porcelain cameo vase. These wonderful painted (some outlining is printed) plaques were done in the Staffordshire area of England in the late 18th century. They are 6 1/2" long and 4 1/2" wide. Each depicts a classical head in profile. It is uncommon to find a pair, especially in such wonderful condition. There are no chips, cracks or repairs of any kind, and the painting is vibrant and unscratched.

These porcelain plates were produced in Germany by Meissen around 1750. They have the blue underglaze crossed swords mark from this period. The plates have a diameter of 9 1/2 inches. The rims are scalloped and there is a molded basket-weave type border. The plates are about 1 1/2 inches deep. They are hand painted with colorful fruits and flowers. An uncommon and fine Chaffers saucer and teabowl in the "Two Men on an Island" pattern.
A workman's mark of three dots is on the reverse on the saucer.
This finely potted blue and while porcelain is in superb condition, with no chips, cracks, staining, or restoration. Any apparent paint losses in the photos are due to reflections. The saucer is 4 7/8" in diameter and the cup has a 2 3/4" diameter at the rim and is 1 1/2" tall.

From our European Porcelain Collection, an exceptionally well-painted 18th century Meissen coffee pot from the so-called "Dot Period" (1732-1773), probably 1740-1760, depicting a serenade or courtship scene with what is either two musicians or perhaps two suitors, attempting to curry the favor of a Lady, all executed in puce with gilt highlights upon a very white, hard paste porcelain body. A wonderful and very desirable example of an 8-sided Lowestoft tea caddy, or canister. Painted with a flower bouquet and sprays beneath a border of flowerheads and foliate scrolls, the top having flowers and leaves.

A wonderful and uncommon Worcester Scratch Cross period high-footed silver form sauce boat of desirable small size. This charming piece has a scroll handle with an upturned thumb rest, the body molded with scroll panels painted with "strutting birds" near a triangular fence and flowering rocks.
