Sterling silver ring with a horse shoe motif as its central feature, set in sterling silver, complete with hallmark and maker's mark S & G. Signed, Wm. S. Morgan, Somerset Co, 1872, this woven wool coverlet was made in Somerset County in Jenner Township, Pennsylvania. In 1870, the factory employed ten workers and produced a variety of woolen goods, including blankets and coverlets. Condition is good, but does have some damage, please study photos. A lovely antique crystal plaque by Baccarat encasing a sulphide or "cameo incrustation" of the "Madonna and Child". This particular sulphide is one of the two known depictions of Mary and Jesus used by Baccarat during the classic period of paperweight production. A low covered pot with jug ear handles of tin glazed earthenware with underglaze blue decoration on either side and on the top depicting a house near water. These pots were used for soft cheese, sort of like cottage cheese if I understand correctly. The top is loose fitting but the raised lip of the pot fits into a channel in the top. 4 ¼ inches tall by 8 inches across handles. (10 x 20 cm).
Condition: Minor wear to the bottom...

Offered is this superb, hand-painted English vitrified glass vase, made by Richardson around 1850. The vase has Etruscan paintings. It is signed on its polished pontil - Richardson's signature of vitrified glass objects is shown on page 447 of Charles R. Hajdamach's book, 'British glass 1800-1914' (shown in last picture here for your convenience). The vase is 7 inches (18 cm) tall and is in excellent condition.
