This porcelain demitasse cup and saucer was produced in England by Doulton Burslem in 1893. It was presented at the 1893 Chicago World's Fair and is marked as such. The saucer has a diameter of 4 1/2 inches and the cup is 2 inches high. The porcelain is fine white bone china. It has molded decoration in the porcelain and the edges are slightly scalloped. A fantastic set of hand painted fish plates, each plate having its own distinctive scene, made in Limoges, France. The plates date circa 1900. Each plate is gold enameled at the rim. Diameter is 9 1/4". Condition is superb (see report below). Backstamp is L. R. I - a manufacturer whose identity I have not solved.

This porcelain tea cup and saucer was produced in England by Spode around 1800. It has a specious Sevres marking over the glaze. The handle is found in Berthoud’s Compendium of Cups. The saucer has a diameter of 5 1/8 inches and it is 1 1/8 inches deep. The cup is 2 1/4 inches high with an opening of 3 1/8 inches in diameter. The pattern is quite colorful with panels of hand painted flowers and panels of geometric designs. The gilding is elaborate.

An intertwined double handled large sauceboat decorated with flowers on both the inside and the outside. Gilding on the base, handles and on the rim with dentil decoration on the outside edge. 3 3/4 inches (9.5 cm) tall, 9 inches (23 cm) long and 7 ¼ inches (18 cm) across the handles. Circa 1780.
Condition: no chips, cracks, hairlines or repairs. Gilding wear around the rim and especially on the handles.

A nice sterling silver long pickle/olive fork in the "Nautilus" pattern by Blackinton. The handle is ornately decorated with floral and shell motifs. The tines are parcel matte gilt and have foliate decoration at the shoulders to match the handle. The handle is monogrammed "L" on the front and has the date "[18]98" on the back.
Origin: America, 1898. Condition: excellent, original gilding intact, sharp detail. Size: 6-7/8" long. Weight: 14.0 grams.

As found a nice early stockinette doll stuffed with rags. She wears a wonderful old undershirt that buttons up the back. She has natural brown raw wool hair, (fleece cut off of a brown sheep). I haven't seen this done on a black doll before but it makes perfect sense. Her face consists of amber glass button eyes. If she had a nose or mouth they don't show now. She is a true off the farm doll with a lot of appeal. 13" tall circa 1890-1900

This porcelain demitasse cup and saucer was produced in Germany by the Royal Berlin Porcelain Manufactory or KPM in 1918. The saucer has a diameter of 4 5/8 inches and the cup is 2 inches high, not counting the handle. The shape of the cup is classic, with a handle that sweeps up over the rim. The set is decorated with ornate gilding. There is a wreath of gold on the front of the cup containing hand painted roses. The rims are trimmed with periwinkle blue and rich gilding.

Attributed to South Staffordshire, England, Possibly Bilston, late 18th century. The “gingham finish” was principally produced in this area. By placing a piece of cambric over solid ground color and then applying white enamel this finish was achieved. The three dimensional decoration was also found in the area. It was normally created by applying several layers of enamel. In addition, the unusual heart shape has been found in other Bilston boxes.

This brush was made by the well-known Gorham Manufacturing Company. The design looks like the top of an antique steamer chest, with a Steampunk-like strapping-and-stud motif. A gorgeous sterling silver cream ladle rare on two counts. First, Fessenden’s 1910 “Tulip” pattern is very uncommon. Secondly, while spoons were often engraved as souvenir pieces, serving pieces were hardly ever given this treatment. This is the only souvenir cream ladle we’ve seen. The matte gilt bowl is engraved with a very detailed representation of the U.S. Capitol Building underscored by “Washington DC”. The back is hallmarked by Fessenden & Co.
