This porcelain box was produced in Germany by Meissen in the late 19th century. It has first quality crossed swords on the bottom. The box measures 4 1/2” long, 3” wide and 2 1/2” deep, The lid had a finely hand painted bull finch bir perched in a blue berry branch. The coloring is vibrant and the style realistic. Little flying insects dot the bottom half of the box. The rims are trimmed with gold. Condition: Very slight wear to gilding on edge. There are no other defects.

Teacups – six plus one - and saucers from Staffordshire with moulded borders, made of porcelain around 1825 and possibly by H & R Daniels. The pattern is numbered 766 and consists of little blue flowers or leaves growing from meandering sprouts in green, with minimal red shoots from them. Measures: height of cups "2/ 5.7 cm, diameter "4/ 10.5 cm and of saucers"6/ 15 cm. The seventh cup with a slightly different handle and no border moulding. Condition of all pieces: fine.

A beautiful example of a large Scratch Cross period Worcester tankard of spreading base form with a double groove strap handle. The pattern is "The Zig-Zag Fence", and is the first in a long series of Worcester fence patterns. The particular speciman offered here, with its single line mark, would be early in the c1751 to 1755 period in which this pattern was made. The expected blue workman's mark is on the base.

Condition is excellent, with no cracks, scratches, or chips...

Applied rondel engraved with single-letter monogram in buckled belt. On underside is engraved “H. J. T. / 1855”. Interior gilt washed. Chinese mark and initials KHC for Khe Cheong, a Canton silversmith and retailer active from ca 1830s-70s. Very good condition.
