This porcelain demitasse cup and saucer was produced in England by Davenport between 1850 and 1870. The mark is impressed on the bottom of the saucer. The saucer is 4 7/8 inches in diameter. The cup is 1 3/4 inches tall with a diameter of 3 inches. It is made of fine bone china. The decoration is inspired by the Asian Imari pattern. The design is hand painted with rust red, cobalt blue and abundant shiny gilding. The cup features three little ball feet...

A matching pair of American coin silver 3-3/4" master salt spoons, made and stamped with the Albert Coles hallmarks (in business 1835-75). The marks are slightly worn, but still clearly visible (more so than our picture). These spoons have a CAG monogram, and they are in excellent vintage condition with no dents, bends, corrosion, losses, damage or repairs...

This Antique Buffalo Hide Carriage Blanket is in excellent condition with just a small area indicating some minor loss; edges beyond the red zigzag border have shredding in a few areas. The label is in excellent condition and states the following: It was made by the WALLACE COMPANY in MONTANA and is INTERLINED WITH HEAVY RUBBER DRILL- Guaranteed Wind, Water and Moths...

A thick elaborate silver oklad Icon, early type of 1843, with two saints.

Height 22cm, width 18cm. Unusually thick quality silver work for these with preserved gilt in places.

Egg tempera on chalk ground. Wooden panel. Silver oklad, stamped with assayers marks 84, makers mark M.I. in Cyrillic, dated 1843. Some losses to the silver oklad.

A sweet tinsel (foil) painting of a large bouquet of flowers. The painting itself is in very good condition, with no chips, breaks, or image loss. The period or earlier gilded wood frame has normal expected wear. Period wood backboard. The sight size is 11 1/4" by 9 5/8", and the overall size is 12 3/4" by 11".

NOTE: Between September 12, 2012 and January 13, 2013 the American Folk Art Museum held an exhibit on this art form...

Authentic antique 18th - 19th century Russian brass and enamel 4-folded panel icon "The Twelve Principal Feast".

The left fold depicts The Annunciation, The Nativity, The Nativity of The Virgin, and the presentation of the Virgin to the Temple; on the top is The Crucifixion surrounded by St. Martha, Mother of God, Saints John, and Longin Centurion.

On the right fold are: The Presentation of Christ to the Temple, Baptism, Transfiguration, and Entrance to Jerusalem...

Gilded Wooden Cupid Angels, Baroque, fine work, found in Burma, but with obvious European influence as Burma was a British colony at that time, mounted on gilt antique wooden base/stands. 19th Century, size of angel only: H. 33cm x W.29 cm x D. 21cm including wings (with base: 46x21x21 excluding wings), good condition considering age, some inconsequential aging and very rare, price shown is per angel, not the pair. Extraordinary majolica tile raised on bun feet. The tile features a sinuous painted Art Nouveau design of elegant swans swimming in a river with a cityscape beyond, surrounded by a border of bamboo. The design has a distinctly impressionist look that brings to mind some of the Rookwood vellum patterns. The bottom is impressed "66" and has an illegibly impressed maker's mark.

Victorian Classical coin silver baby cup. Made by Wood & Hughes in New York, ca 1860. Curved and tapering bowl. Flared rim and spread foot with leaf-and-dart border on lined ground. Scroll bracket handle with quatrefoil mounts. Heart-shaped leafing scroll frame (vacant) surrounded by tendrils and flowers. Fully marked including maker’s stamp and no. 4. Very good condition.

A Russian Silver Serving Spoon in a Fiddle and Shell Pattern; dated 1840, during the reign of Czar Nicholas I (1822-1855). Length; 8.5"; weight 2.8 troy ounces. Excellent condition.

Magnificent American Classical coin silver tureen. Made by Gorham in Providence, ca 1860. Curved ovoid bowl on stepped oval foot mounted to four beaded and round supports. Cover domed. Bowl rim has bold beading bordered by applied guilloche. On each end is cast satyr’s head with flamboyantly ribbed horns and slack jaw holding loose-mounted ring. Also cast is cover finial, a gentle herbivore quadruped standing on tooled grassy mound...

Large and well decorated porcelain pitcher with a group of flowers on one side and on the opposite side inside a gilt cartouche “L. Cummings.” in Gothic letters. The country of origin may be either France, in which case it was probably brought here blank and then decorated here or possibly it was made by an American manufacturer. The hard paste porcelain is unlikely to have been made in England, though they did on occasion import French blanks. Anyway, nice decoration from about 1870...

Victorian silver baby cup. Made by S. Kirk & Son in Baltimore. Straight sides with allover floral repousse on stippled ground. Cast and capped leaf scroll handle and pointille foot border. Fully marked including maker’s stamp (1846-61) and alloy “11 OZ.” (that is 11/12 or 916 silver). Very good condition.

Probably, our finest and surely the heaviest silver icon, we've had for a while! Russian Orthodox icon with an amazing wrought and chisseled Oklad, dating 1871.

This is NOT the usual foliage thin silver sheet oklad but a a heavy thick hammered and chisseled silver oklad in a baroque style with relief heads in each corner and weighing several 100s of grams in .84 silver. Fine gilt to the details...

This Dark blue and white towel is 11 1/2" by 16 1/2" with sides hand hemmed. It has a few light brown stains in two places. This is a great size for a table mat or as a guest towel. The pattern and color are pleasing to the eye. C.1840
