A Gorham Sterling Silver Berry or Serving Spoon in the "Raphael" pattern, patented 1874 and dated from shortly after. It is 8" in length with an oval bowl of 3.5" x 2.5". There is an elaborate monogram on the handle, matching item #534 (see picture) and the condition is excellent.

A very unique 14 sided paperweight with an interior sculpture having a latticino base supporting stranded cage housing a green glass bubble. Its quality workmanship is accented by the beveled edges on the top and bottom. In excellent condition and unsigned. Please note that the glass is slightly yellow, due in large measure tot he yellow glass rods. Our images suggest a clearer brighter glass, but that is not the case when viewed in normal light. Outstanding brass match holder the pocket formed in the shape of a shield and punch-decorated in a stars and stripes pattern. The pocket is surmounted by a punch-decorated American eagle underneath the motto “In God We Trust”. This motto was adopted in 1863 as a subtle government reminder during the Civil War that God was on the side of the Union troops fighting to end the evil of slavery. The backplate has a punchwork border and also a hole for hanging.

This porcelain demitasse cup and saucer was produced in England by Coalport in the 1890s. It was produced especially for the prestigious retailer, Gilman and Collamore of New York. The saucer has a diameter of 3 3/4 inches. The cup is 1 7/8 inches high with a diameter of 1 7/8 inches. The fine, white bone china is covered entirely be gold. There are panels of intricate, embossed patterns alternating with panels of raised turquoise enamel beads or jewels...

A pair of Victorian milk glass applied flowers mantle vases. These 1880s vases measure 4-5/8" tall and they feature turquoise blue glass flowers and leaves and light amber coloured stems appled to the ouside of the vases; they are as typically found unsigned and they are in excellent condition with no cracks, repairs or damage other than the loss of one petal on one vase...

Nice Victorian brass ladies' lace-up boot. This example has holes drilled to represent the holes for laces. The Victorians often placed these along their mantles for purely decorative purposes.

Bold Victorian banded agate bead necklace with a silver dog tag clasp. The 19 large banded agate beads are interspersed with small black agate beads. The necklace measures 17 1/2" long, c 1870

This porcelain tea cup and saucer was produced in Europe in the mid 19th century. It is marked under glaze but we have been unable to identify it. The shape is similar to some used by KPM. The saucer has a diameter of 5 3/4 inches and the cup is 3 inches high, without the handle. The porcelain is quite substantial, similar to the weight of Paris porcelains. There is a reserve on the front of the cup with a scene of buildings in a European city...

Though the hallmarks show it to be of the Victorian era, this memorial band was made in the Regency style of the earlier part of the century. It is hallmarked for Birmingham, 1863. The words IN MEMORY OF are carved to the outside of the band along with raised religious and mourning imagery including Maltese crosses and fallen leaves. The gold-work is heavily chased. This ring was probably made as an advance order but never inscribed...

This porcelain figurine was produced in Thuringia,Germany by the Brothers Heubach in the 1880s. It has an impressed and a printed mark. The kitten is 7 1/4 inches high. The porcelain is well modeled giving the figurine lots of kitty details. The best part is that sweet little kitten face. All of the detail is hand painted right down to her little claws. You will find this kitten to be lovable. Condition: Excellent

We love the pleasing niello design of the dotted squares on these substantial cufflinks. The word "niello" is a derivation of the Latin word for "niger" meaning black. Niello was an ancient of silver decorative technique revived by a German jeweler in Paris in the early part of the nineteenth century. It is done by engraving a design on the silver, and filling the recesses with an alloy of lead, copper, sulphur, and silver...

Fabulous brass and copper picture frame in the Aesthetic Japonaise style. The basketweave pattern of the brass frame is detailed with raised copper decorative elements that include a crane standing in a stream, bamboo and cherry blossoms. The back has an easel. The frame is 3.5" x 2.75". The oval opening with glass is 2.25" x 1.5". Circa 1870.

A Gorham sterling silver miniature chamber stick or candle holder dated 1891. This Victorian era ornate chamberstick stands 1-5/8" high and it measures 3-3/8" across the base. It is stamped with the lion/anchor/G mark, along with STERLING 181 and the year cypher for 1891. Although a dainty size, these small candle holders sat on a writing deak or in a travel writing desk, as they had the practical use of melting sealing wax for an envelope or document.
