Unusual lightweight original watch chain of made of gunmetal, a material used to make decorative chains, purses, brooches, buckles and other items during the Victorian era. Gunmetal is an alloy of copper and tin. Our chain has a lovely complex knot link that is shown closeup in the images. This bisque porcelain figural group was produced in Europe in the mid 19th century. It is not marked and we don't know if it is German or perhaps English. It is 6 1/2 inches tall and 4 1/4 inches wide at the base. The porcelain is dense and quite heavy for its size. The group is so quaint, with this little girl and her large dog carrying a basket of flowers in his mouth. The piece has a space in the back to hold flowers, so it serves as a vase as well as a figurine...

Gorgeous Qing Dynasty Chinese export porcelain vase with Rose Medallion enameled decoration. The body has a beautiful white color and intricate painted decoration of peonies, quince fruit, waterlilies, butterflies and birds. The foot, rim and shoulder are decorated with enameled flowers against a gilt background...

A nice South Jersey glass paperweight with a frit “Home Sweet Home” design. The motif features a log cabin with puffs of smoke coming out of the chimney, surrounded by the “Home Sweet Home” legend and a laurel wreath bough at the bottom. The top is cut with a single printy. The bottom is flat and polished, without the incised ring that appears around the periphery of many South Jersey weights.

A Victorian bisque double shell young boy figural mantle vase from the late 1800s. This 5-1/4" tall figurine is fully hand painted and of top quality - quite like the fineness of Schafer & Vater. It consists of a young boy with a hat seated between two shells. The vase is in a nice greenish/blue colour and it has lots of gold jewelling. It is unsigned except for a painted 74 and a faint impressed underglaze 524 (we think)...

Large antique 19th C terracotta sculpture in the Italian Renaissance style of a beautiful woman. All original with no repairs or touch-ups, rarely do you find one of these pieces with the paint and gold gilt intact. This piece has just been lightly dusted with a soft brush for the past 25 years. Wonderful Edwardian moonstone necklace set in silver. It is said if your lover gives you a moonstone necklace when the moon is full you will always have a passion for each other. Moonstones became popular during the Art Nouveau period as a talisman for fertility, love, protection, and sleep! This beautiful moonstone needs little excuse for ownership. The sporting craze in Victorian jewelry started in the 1890's and continued into the 20th century up until WWI. Encouraged by women's more active participation in sports, such jewelry was particularly fashionable for country wear. A Fine Pair of Brass Open Barley Twist Candlesticks. English, circa 1900. Dimensions; 12" high x 5" in diameter at the base. Very good condition.

Outstanding brass match holder the pocket formed in the shape of a shield and punch-decorated in a stars and stripes pattern. The pocket is surmounted by a punch-decorated American eagle underneath the motto “In God We Trust”. This motto was adopted in 1863 as a subtle government reminder during the Civil War that God was on the side of the Union troops fighting to end the evil of slavery. The backplate has a punchwork border and also a hole for hanging.

This is a long silver watch chain with alternating lengths of longer and shorter fetter links. For the better part of the nineteenth century, chains were fashioned laboriously using hand-working skills. A fetter link refers to a longer link which was used to reduce the number of links needed to fabricate a chain, thereby cutting down on the labor. Gorgeous Victorian Japonesque sterling silver baby cup. Made by William Hunter in London in 1877. Straight and upward tapering sides; leaf-mounted bamboo-style c-scroll handle. Though the hallmarks show it to be of the Victorian era, this memorial band was made in the Regency style of the earlier part of the century. It is hallmarked for Birmingham, 1863. Fabulous brass and copper picture frame in the Aesthetic Japonaise style. The basketweave pattern of the brass frame is detailed with raised copper decorative elements that include a crane standing in a stream, bamboo and cherry blossoms. The back has an easel. The frame is 3.5" x 2.75". The oval opening with glass is 2.25" x 1.5". Circa 1870.
