A pair of Early Spode Dessert/Cabinet Plates. Ovoid shaped, with a Pierced Handle. From the early 19th, when Spode Introduced the India Pattern (later termed India Tree), Copied from the Chinese. Circa 1820. Dimensions 8" in diameter and 8.75" to handle. Excellent condition.

With a Latin inscription translated as "Under a clear sky France suffers", this 18K Carnelian fob seal depicts an African slave in profile, carved atop a family crest, all shown above a ribbon banner reading "PURUM PATIENTIA FRANCE". Notwithstanding the word "France" in the inscription, our wax seal fob is English. The seal harkens back to the British abolitionist movement in France, during which time the British people actively sought to pressure the French to abolish slavery...

An uncommon and striking bowl in a deep Bristol blue color. The top rim is scalloped, the sides are step and panel cut, and the underside of the foot is radial cut. Excellent condition with a 5" bowl diameter and a 4" foot diameter.

Charming coffee cans, decorated with various birds in bright and lively colours, the style typical of the last years of the Amstel factory, 1809-1814. There are three cans. The saucers are from the period, but not belonging - the original saucers probably had corresponding birds in the center. Height "2 ¼ / 6.2 cm, diameter of saucers "5 ¼ / 13 cm. Condition: some wear to the gilt of the upper rim to two of the cups.

A pair of elaborate porcelain vases with large leaves in turquoise and gilt opening from a narrow base which rests on four wide feet. The base and feet encrusted with vegetation and occasional flowers which also support a large rising stem on either side with roses on one side and blue, orange garden flowers and possibly small lilies on the other side. Hard to imagine putting flowers that wouldn’t clash into these vases...

A rare Clews Jasperware cream jug circa 1815-34. This pre-Victorian English 3-3/4" high milk jug is signed by Clews. Ralph and James Clews (Cobridge, Staffordshire) was in business only from 1815-34; pieces of Jasperware in imitation of Wedgwood were tricky to manufacture and as a result examples by Clews are quite scarce. This buff coloured example has applied bacchanalia scenes, with figures drinking wine and holding grapes. It has a grape-leaf border and a hand-formed spout...

An English stoneware plate, salt-glazed and enameled in rust-red, blue and green, c 1800 or somewhat earlier. Diameter "9½/ 24 cm. Condition: a small glaze-burst to rim, otherwise fine.

An antique Spode stone china covered bowl with transfer and hand painted designs in the Imari palette featuring floral motifs in the Chinese style. These wonderful early ceramic pieces are a treat to find, and often bear evidence of their 200 years of life, and this one is no different. The foot suffers 2 small chips which we have photographed, and the outside and underside have foxing as shown in the photographs...

English blue and white transfer printed plate by Clews, Staffordshire, c 1820. Clews (1818-1834) produced patterns with motifs intended for the American market. This pattern in a soft blue shade, however, is of a guide demonstrating some Italian classical ruins to a lady traveller seated on a donkey, all viewed as from inside a grotto. Flat back with impressed mark: Clews, warranted Staffordshire. Diameter "9½/ 24 cm. Condition: two chips, one to the underside of rim, as shown in photos.

A “Salopian” pearlware coffee service: nine cups and saucers, coffee pot, cream jug and slop bowl. Transfer printed decoration and underglaze painting in yellow, light red, blue and green of flower borders and a romantic view of a farm house with cows, meadows and wanderers. The cups of generous bute shape with "London” handles, and inside each cup a very small cottage is to be admired. There is a blueish tone to the white glaze...

This amethyst ring is a striking example of gold-work decoration that became popular in the second decade of the 19th century. A type of filigree work known as "cannetile" and named for the gold embroideries of the Napoleonic years, cannetile work made the most of a small amount of gold and required highly skilled goldsmiths. The amethyst stone is particularly eye-catching. The combination of the cannetile work next to the amethyst makes this an extraordinary ring. The ring is a US size 6.

A VERY RARE Pair of VINCENNES-SÈVRES, 18th-19th Polychrome Porcelain Plates, decorated with Motifs of the HERCULANEUM Service, including "CENTAUR CAPTURED BY BACCHANTE" and "CENTAUR CARRYING MALE, LYRE & CYMBALS". This porcelain tea cup and saucer was produced in England by Coalport between 1805 and 1810. The saucer measures 5 1/2 inches in diameter and it is 1 1/8 inches deep. The cup is 2 1/8 inches high and the diameter of the opening is 3 3/8 inches. Colorful stripes and stylized flowers are accented by elaborate gilding. The pattern is eye opening. Condition: Excellent

A charming metal artist's trade sign mounted under glass in a fine period wood frame. Obviously done to showcase his skill, it shows a palette with brushes resting in the thumb hole along with flowers, additional flowers and a bird outside of the palette.

The sign and the frame with its original backboard are in excellent condition. Sight size 13 1/2" by 9 1/2", and a framed size of 17" by 12 1/2".

A wonderful and special Worcester Barr Flight Barr campana vase with snake handles, beautifully painted with a scene marked on the base as "Ruins of Bayham Abbey Church." The reverse of the scene with a salmon ground and having detailed urn and foliage gilding. The rim of the body proper and the top of the supporting column with faux pearls. The bottom also inscribed with "Barr Flight & Barr Worcester Manufac' to Their Majesties."

The vase is 6" tall and 6" wide across the handles...

Exceptional mourning band of the Regency period, with stripes of black enamel bordered with gold trim sandwiched between chased floral borders. The inscription reads "Mrs. Anne Smith Cunninghame of Caprington died 1st of March 1830." on the inside. The Scottish origin of the name Cunningham of Caprington along with the prefix "Mrs." tells us this ring was made in loving memory of a beloved Scottish wife...

A superior example of Staffordshire pottery owing to a couple of factors such as the gorgeous apple green enameling, the generous gilding, and the excellent condition of the creamer. This one is painted with apple green around the body with light yellow reserves of gold framed embellishments, the neck which is decorated with swagging leaves. The large helmet shaped mouth has gold leaf as does the attached two part handle. The creamer sits on four gold decorated feet. The underside is unmarked...
