A beautiful example of a large Scratch Cross period Worcester tankard of spreading base form with a double groove strap handle. The pattern is "The Zig-Zag Fence", and is the first in a long series of Worcester fence patterns. The particular speciman offered here, with its single line mark, would be early in the c1751 to 1755 period in which this pattern was made. The expected blue workman's mark is on the base.

Condition is excellent, with no cracks, scratches, or chips...

This porcelain perfume bottle was produced in England by Coalport in the 1890s. It was produced especially for the London retailer Sloane & Smith of Oxford Street. The bottle is 3 3/4 inches tall with a diameter of 2 3/4 inches. The collar and top of the lid are enameled with raised enamel rubies and ornate gilding. Fully hallmarked on bottom, it measures 3 inches high, 2.75" cup diameter, and 3.75" across to include handle. Magnificent and rare German BERLIN Koenigliche Porzellan Manufaktur "KPM" reticulated or cut out 2-piece porcelain basket vase, sugar basket also known as compote (1820 - 1830, designed by Karl Friederich Schinkel). The outer container is a white and gold basket weave in a lattice pattern and the separate inset piece/fitted interior bowl is a gorgeous powder-lapis lazuli-blue and gold recipient. This is 4 STERLING GORHAM NAPKIN RINGS from a Virginia, USA Estate. Distinctive Border decorations and chase work typically late VICTORIAN to early 20th Century. Size each is 1 1/2" X 1 15/16". This is the upper part of a kamishimo; samurai's formal attire without the trousers. It was worn over a kosode (kimono with small sleeves) with trousers. The texture is hemp like; coarse, slightly translucent, thick threads (thicker than other kamishimo). The family crest is the feathers of a hawk. Kami-shimo (upper-lower) that we currently have are quite dandy and fashionable. The amazing thing is the work that is involved when making these fabrics...
