This shaving box is a truly wonderful and unusual piece of Americana, and was used to hold and sharpen razors. It was not a common household object, and not many survived from the 18th century. Nina Fletcher Little discusses these charming boxes in her book, Neat and Tidy, and shows a similar example. Exquisite antique purse hand beades using "mostacilla" beads in the "petit poi" style. The clasp area is beautifully crafted with an intricate design. The clasp and chain are made in silver 800. The clasp contains the "POSEN" seal. Circa 1850-1880.

A fine oil on canvas portrait of a young woman in a brown dress and blue lace trimmed hat, with a column and red drape behind her. Stylistically, this would be from the Philadelphia School. Sight size is 30" by 24 1/2" and the overall size is 35 1/4" by 30". The portrait is in its original gilded frame, which is in very fine shape, with the normal minor nicks. The stretcher also appears to be original...

From the latter half of the 19th century, this beautifully proportioned iron vane graced the spire of the United Baptist Church in Ellsworth, Maine. In 1933, a major fire swept through the town, burning many of the buildings, including the church. When the church was finally rebuilt, the council wanted a more modern look, and stored the vane in the basement, where it remained for the next 70 years or so...

A blown moulded Art Nouveau green Loetz glass vase with 'Cherry Sprig' pewter mounts, probably designed by Frederich Adler, and made by Orion Pewter, Nuremberg, Germany circa 1905. A similar vase is illustrated in "20th Century Pewter" by Paul Carter Robinson (2012) ISBN 978 1 85149 6150. Condition: there are some very small surface nicks to the glass and slight bumps to the pewter; no cracks, losses or repairs. 10cm (4 inches) high; 11cm (4.3inches) across.

Patinated bronze and silver overlay four piece desk set consisting of a large blotter with four bronze corners (one is decorated with silver - the others are plain) measuring 21" x 16", a pen tray measuring 8 3/4" x 2 1/4", a blotter measuring 5 1/2" x 2 1/2" x 1 1/4" tall and an inkwell with its original insert measuring 4" diameter x 2 1/2" tall. All in great original condition.

A Gorham Sterling Silver Sauce or Gravy Ladle in the "Kings I" pattern. Patented in 1876. Measurements 6" in length, bowl 2" x 2". Excellent condition, No monogram.

This is a very beautiful set of seven crystal goblets manufactured by the prestigious Bohemian firm Josephinenhutte between 1880-1890, delicately enameled with a scroll and ribbon design in two shades of gold centered with clusters of lucious purple grapes, gold number painted underneath foot; 5 1/2 in H, pristine.
