Engraved Southern coin silver baby cup or child's mug by Brown and Anderson of Wilmington, North Carolina. Fully hallmarked on bottom, it measures 3 inches high, 2.75" cup diameter, and 3.75" across to include handle. A very rare piece and an excellent acquisition for the serious collector of American Southern coin silver. Circa 1850.

This porcelain covered bowl with underplate was produced in England by George Jones in the 1870s. The underplate has a diameter of 6 1/2 inches, the bowl is 4 1/2 inches high and 7 inches long across the handles. The set is marked with an impressed Jones mark. The porcelain is very fine, white bone china. The underplate is contoured so that the well is raised up to meet the bottom of the bowl. The handles on the lid and sides of the bowl are made to imitate branches...

A large English Victorian cranberry glass epergne consisting of four scalloped trumpets with applied rigaree rising from a scallop edged round tray. In excellent antique condition it measures 20 inches high, 9.5" diameter of tray. Circa 1885. More photos available.

A wonderful Staffordshire pottery cow creamer standing on a oval base. The cow is decorated with rust spots on the white background and the horns are gilt. The oval base is decorated as a grassy outcropping. Cow creamers were very popular in the early 19th century and were produced by a number of potters in Staffodshire, Wales and southern Scotland. This example is from the Staffordshire region.

Austrian Biedermeier silver gilt casket, 1846. Bellied, lobed, and rectangular. Hinged cover same and concave with raised center and swing-mounted scroll bracket cast handle with flowers. Hardstone mounts including porphyry and lapis lazuli as well as cabochon jewels. On front two turquoise cabochon beads of which one a push button for opening cover. This porcelain sugar and creamer was produced in the United States by Ott & Brewer Belleek in the late 19th century. The sugar bowl is 4 inches across and 1 3/4 inches high. The creamer is 3 1/2 inches high. The porcelain is highly translucent. The interiors of each piece have a high glaze and the outside has a matte finish. It feels rather like satin. They are expertly hand painted by a factory decorator. The decoration is pink anemones with gilded foliage...

A beautiful framed map of New York State circa 1855 measuring 14x16”

Offered is this beautiful and rare, hand-painted (artist-signed), iridescent bronze glass vase, made most likely by Thomas Webb of Stourbridge, England, around 1900. The vase is 11 1/4 inches (21,5 cm) tall and 4 1/2 inches (11,5 cm) wide. Except for a small rim-chip (see last picture), the vase is in very good condition. Unsigned - probably made by Thomas Webb (based on the bronze-glass used in the vase).

18K pendant of rock crystal with a reverse intaglio of the head of an adorable Pekingese, with an inscription on the reverse side, Ed. Van den Hove & Fils, Bruxelles, C. 1880. This pendant is stylistically characteristic of the work of the Pradier family, whose speciality was painting miniature works of domestic animals. These miniature works of art were widely popular in the United States as well as on the Continent. They are often erroneously referred to as Essex Crystals.

A fine American tinsel or foil painting depicting a wreath of flowers, with a bird, around a grouping of fruit and foliage. The wreath is on a variation of the relatively rare "snowflake" type of background. This technique appears to have been done primarily in the 1870's period. The frame and wooden backboard are original.

There is a crack in the glass at the top left, and a small piece of glass is missing...

Antique 19th century, solid silver fork in Baroque style adorned with Lithuanian heraldic coat of arms Pahonia-Vytis.

The fork has 3 shaped tines and an elaborately designed stem topped with a finial depicting a woman's bust in classical style. This woman represents allegorically Poland, holding the crown of the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth and backed by a laurel wreath.

The back of the fork's handle is skillfully carved with a Lithuanian heraldic coat of arms known as Pahonia-Vytis...

A beautiful French cameo glass vase made by DeVez, a contemporary of Daum Nancy. The vase is cameo decorated with a wrap-around scenery. The vase is in excellent condition. The vase is approximately 6 1/2 inches (16,5 cm) wide and 6 inches (15 cm) tall.

Victorian Classical coin silver baby cup. Made by Wood & Hughes in New York, ca 1860. Curved and tapering bowl. Flared rim and spread foot with leaf-and-dart border on lined ground. Scroll bracket handle with quatrefoil mounts. Heart-shaped leafing scroll frame (vacant) surrounded by tendrils and flowers. Fully marked including maker’s stamp and no. 4. Very good condition.

Lovely panel-cut footed crystal compote, the stem with a blown teardrop. The foot is shaped to conform to the panel cutting. The crystal is top quality, with excellent weight and color. The bottom has a polished pontil.

Victorian Umbrella Handle, late 1800's. DETAILS: The handle is made of rolled gold with ornate curved floral scroll patterns, center of handle is mother of pearl.
CONDITION: Good, there are no cracks or chips on mother of pearl; gold has some very small dents, nice age patina.

Elegant Georgian girandole earrings in 15k gold and cobalt enamel. The gold work is an elaborate Etruscan design adorned with tiny balls. Earrings measure 1 3/4" long and 7/8" wide.

An unusual foil, or tinsel, painting depicting two birds hovering over a large flowering plant. The painting is done basically in tones of taupe and green. The frame is period and is most likely original. The back is sealed with paper that appears to have been a student's calligraphy practice.

Condition is very good, with some very minor paint separation at some points on the edges. The grayish areas in the painting are shadows from when the photograph was taken...

This ancient bellows, 9 pounds in weight and 50 inches long, 15 inches across at the widest point, appears to be of Pennsylvania origin, (judging from the colorful "hex" symbol associated with furniture from the area). I am hardly a specialist in Pennsylvania folk art, but thought the hex symbol would permit this to be safely placed in that category. The bellows is really an unusual and picturesque piece, an old survivor, with original old thumb screws, ancient old thick hide leather, old tack...

A fine pair of mirror image blue opaline glass vases with enameled butterflies and flowers. Attributed to Thomas Webb & Sons, these date circa 1860-1880. The vases are in excellent antique condition with only loss to the gilt on the rims and an area on the back. Measures 12.75" high x 5.5" diameter. A truly beautiful and rare find.

This Dark blue and white towel is 11 1/2" by 16 1/2" with sides hand hemmed. It has a few light brown stains in two places. This is a great size for a table mat or as a guest towel. The pattern and color are pleasing to the eye. C.1840

Humorous Staffordshire Pottery "Admiral Nelson" Pitcher moulded in the form of Lord Nelson (but missing the wrong arm) with a rather strategically placed spout, and a Rockingham mottled brown glaze. Probably English, circa 1850.

These darling 2 1/2" tall Koala bears are antique velvet. They have some kind of metal buttons for eyes and noses. Their little paws wrap around the real nut shells. They have old red ribbons around their necks. The ribbons are old but may not be original. The velvet has lost some of the pile but it is not noticeable with the foundation fabric being the same color. They are a little bit soft with an inner core of wood so they sit nicely. You can tell they are best friends. Circa 1890

Often confused with Whitby Jet, French Jet is polished glass with a more brilliant luster and flashier. Like Whitby Jet, it is truly antique, of the (Victorian) period, and no longer made, and therefore highly collectible. Like Whitby Jet, it was often used for mourning. A wonderful hexagonal shaped ironstone flow mulberry covered dish with handles, often times called a vegetable dish, in the Jeddo pattern by William Adams and Sons, c. 1850. The dish and lid are structurally sound but there are a few condition defects to note. On the underside of the lid, there are 2 very shallow chips. On the underside of the foot, there are also 2 chips - 1 very small and the other about 1/4". We show pictures of all defects. Fortunately, none of these chips is visible when...

Standard Glaze 7 1/4 inch mug, decorated in 1898 by Lenore Asbury with corn and wheat. Marked with the Rookwood insignia, which discloses the date, shape 775 and the incised artist initials, light overall crazing, late 19th century, Lenore Asbury for Rookwood Size: Dimensions as follows, 6" x 4.75" x 7.25. Condition Report: Very good condition with small wear area to the rim near handle.

Unusual Victorian copper ladies' button-up boot. The Victorians often placed these along their mantles for purely decorative purposes. Most examples are made of brass, but this piece is entirely copper. Another nice touch is the applied scalloped pattern along the front edge of the boot and the white brass buttons.

An exceptional and very large Russian judean silver torah pointer, dated 1878 and makers mark of B.C. and M.A.

A Torah pointer is used when reading the Torah scroll so as not to touch the sacred text with the finger.

Stamped with Russian silver stamps .84 and very ornately made: On the top a finely moulded flower on an openwork hemispheric disc shape with flowers; on the upper stem two Rabbies or Jewish worshippers standing on top of a beautiful openwork filigree section; ...

The octagonal barrel is stamped with the Liege prove mark. The lock and the iron fittings are beautifully engraved. The pistol is 14 inches long. In very good condition. We are shipping internationally; no fire arms permit is required.

A nice 19th C. black wool spaniel dog with a red tape collar. He has wire enforced legs. His wool shows areas of wear but no holes. He is 7" long and 7" tall. He has a great little face.

An antique watercolor painting of an early Maine farm house with out buildings. It is a modest setting but with a very neat and tidy welcoming look. It is 6 by 9" and with mat and frame is 9 3/4" by 13". It show lines where is was folded at one time. I have not had it out of the frame. ( I bought this in an estate sale in Maine so I am assuming it is Maine but it doesn't have to be.)
