This porcelain plate was produced in Germany by Meissen in the 1880s or earlier. The plate measures 8 inches in diameter. The border has a hand cut, 1 ½ inch reticulated border. The center has 3 cherubs, painted in puce. There are 3 reserves around the border containing sprays of flowers. The reticulation is outlined in gold and there are gilded accents. A thick elaborate silver oklad Icon, early type of 1843, with two saints.

Height 22cm, width 18cm. Unusually thick quality silver work for these with preserved gilt in places.

Egg tempera on chalk ground. Wooden panel. Silver oklad, stamped with assayers marks 84, makers mark M.I. in Cyrillic, dated 1843. Some losses to the silver oklad.

Antique 19th century Russian Orthodox Christian brass traveling triptych folded icon" Deesis with Selected Saints."

Opened, the central leaf shows Christ enthroned in the attitude of blessing with Gospels, flanked by John the Baptist and the Virgin. The left leaves display St. John the Theologian, the saints' prelates Nicholas the Wonderworker and Metropolitan Philip.
