A set of four blind molded dinner plates 8 7/8 inches (22.5 cm) diameter with charming overglaze hand painted floral decoration and gilt rims. Though unmarked, this molded lip is unique to Coalport and dates to around 1820. The arrangement of the floral bouquets on the plate was a popular one, starting in the 18th century.

From Herculaneum in Liverpool c 1810, all with the impressed mark of the pottery as a straight line, in the style of Wedgwood, the name of the pottery also competing with Wedgwood’s Etruria. The sitter has auburn curls and is dressed in an Empire style dress with wide lace collar, a paisley bordered shawl, white turban, and matching pearl and gem brooch and earrings. A pair of heavy Bristol wine glasses, peacock blue. Mouth blown and made around 1800 – 1810, the rim softly rounded. The pontil mark of one glass removed by grinding. Removal of the pontil mark was often done on lead “finer” glass (the lead allowed for cut designs). On the other glass the mark is deeper and so is still there, despite grinding.
