This exceptional teapot is from the Staffordshire region of England from the very early 19th century, reasonably dated c. 1800 and attributed to the New Hall factory. It is a porcelain production imitating the very popular Chinese wares coming into the European market, and attempting to convince consumers that it was of the same quality. These pieces often depict domestic scenes but are frequently scenes from theater or novels...

Banded mochaware bowl in blue and brown. Very nicely formed, with a crisply shaped foot rim. The rim has one 1" hairline, and there is some discoloration to the interior (note that the discoloration visible near the rim is actually very thick bluish glaze, and not staining), but otherwise the bowl is in very good condition. 6-3/8" diam; 3-1/8" high.

This is an elegant set of 10 antique Haviland Limoges porcelain dessert plates, ca.1914, having a transfer printed gold rose and fern swag design caught with ribbons, scallop rim with a double row of gilt banding; all plates have an overglaze mark of Theodore Haviland, Limoges, France Patent Applied For in red inside an impressed raised double ring; also impressed marked T H . Victorian Regency sterling silver salver. Made by John Aldwinckle and James Slater in London in 1880. Round and solid well engraved with stylized garland frame (vacant) in ornamental surround. Shoulder has applied ribbon-tied garland with pendant patera and open colonnade; beaded rim. Three c-scroll supports with open colonnade and applied garland. Fully marked. Very good condition.

Splendid Brass Church Candelabrum with tripod base, relief cast with many fine details. A massive and rare heavy cast 18/19th Century candlestick! Excellent condition. Size: H. 28" x 9 3/4" diameter (71 cm. x 24.5 cm.)

Flint glass open sugar on round foot, glass sliced octagonally. Glass is tinted grey/purple. Condition better than average for age, but still age appropriate wear. Limited but interesting provenance for serious buyer. Glass belonged to well to do and well connected Georgia philanthropist Lenna Judd who died in 1939. Dimension: 4" h; 4 1/4" d

An oval English porcelain sugar bowl with the lid and body decorated with blue and magenta bell flowers growing out of gilt plants. The flowers circle both the lid and the body, which has molded ring handles (not working) at the end of the long sides. The knop on the lid is elaborately gilt. Unmarked, but certainly English and from the first quarter of the 19th century. 6 inches tall by 6 inches long by 5 inches wide.

Condition: no chips, cracks, hairlines or repairs...

Boxed French Silver 5 piece Serving Set;13.7 Troy ounces total. Consists of a Carving Knife (12.5" marked Paris Acier Fondu), Carving Fork (11"), Salad Set (silver with ivory bowl and tines), both Fork and Spoon 11", and a Cake Server (11.25"). All silver stamped with the French Minerva mark as well as an axe in a diamond and the initial AH-presumably maker. Late 19th century. In original blue silk lined presentation box. Excellent condition.

1880 blue checked bonnet all hand sewn with really nice details. I have taken some pictures I hope you can see the hand stitching on the brim with six rows with cord inside so it gives the brim some stiffness. The bonnet is a lovely blue. There are a few spots around the bottom of the neck fringe. It is 14" top to bottom and 8" front to back of the bonnet. It is a very nice early work of art. C.1880

Our silver bangle is decorated with a five bands of repeating patterns of arabesques and scrolls. The center band is the focal point while the surrounding bands are each repeated once. The Victorians loved geometric patterns, and silver bangles, brooches and the like were affordable to the middle class and could appeal to a broader segment of the jewelry market and thus achieved great popularity around this time...

Mid 19th C Staffordshire figurine of a tailor riding a goat with 2 kids in a basket. Inspired by Meissen' s Tailor of Count Bruhl figurine, the goat is carrying an iron in her mouth while the tailor is holding a small roll of material in his hand. This is of-the-period, not a reproduction, and is an excellent piece for the collector or one who values original antique Staffordshire. Measures: 5 1/8 inches high, 3 5/8' long x 2"

A fine transfer printed dark blue and white Staffordshire plate in the "Birds and Fruit" pattern. Attributed to John Hall & Sons, Burslem, England.

The central scene features two birds amidst a panoply of fruit, including pears, strawberries, blackberries, grapes, etc. The cavetto and wide rim has a border of flowers and foliage.

The color of this platter is a deep, clear blue, with no blurriness, and with the desired ripple glaze...

From the estate of the late Violet Trefusis, exquiste large etched English or French Crystal Perfume Bottle with angled sides depicting a beautiful Deer in a Forest landscape, gilt top, original cork and intact crystal stopper. Ornate sterling silver meat serving fork, the handle decorated with shells, scrolls, roses and beads, and the matte-gilded tines decorated with bright cut engraving. The reverse is marked "925Sterlin1000", a marking frequently seen on American sterling silver before silversmith's were required to identify their work.

Origin: America, circa 1895. Condition: excellent, period monogram "G". Size: 7-3/4" long.

Utilizing the natural features of the blush and gray speckled agate with a lovely mottled appearance and demonstrating the fine carving that this circle of Italian carvers were known for, our ring is a sensitive portrayal of Sappho, an early poetess who came of age in the time of the Ancient Greeks in the Archaic period. The quality of the carving is reminiscent of the circle of carvers in Rome during the mid eighteenth century which included Anton Pichler and his sons Giovanni and Luigi...

Superb early hinged porcelain box with gilt brass trim. The top of the box is painted with a colorful scene of a pheasant in a pastoral setting with foliage, pink flowers and a lake. The bottom half of the box is painted in a coordinating pattern. Boxes such as this were used to hold small candies called “bonbons”. The best of the boxes were made in France, both in Limoges and in the area around Paris, from the middle of the 18th century.

This porcelain cup and saucer trio was produced in England in the early 19th century. It is comprised of a tea cup, a coffee cup and a saucer. The set is unmarked. The saucer has a diameter of 5 1/4 inches and is 1 1/4 inches deep. The tea cup measures 2 inches high, without the handle and has a diameter of 3 3/4 inches. The coffee cup is 2 11/16 inches high, without the handle and has a diameter of 2 3/4 inches. Note the unique handle style. The set is exquisitely hand painted...

Nice Lanna Buddha from Northern Thailand with gilding, subduing Mara, hand carved from single piece of wood, 19th Century, good condition, size: H. 17cm x 7cm x 3.5cm

Pretty neoclassical style pendant drop earrings of gilt metal with faceted silver balls adorning the front surface and are hung from a matching faceted ball at the top. A single acanthus leaf adorns the very bottom of each earring with spirals flanking the upper sides of the leaf. The earrings hang from gold shepherd's hooks. Lightweight earrings that work for either work or play.

A Gorham Sterling Silver Sugar Sifter Spoon, in the "Raphael" pattern; patented 1874, and dating from shortly after. The length is 6" and it has a gold washed bowl (2" x 1.5"). There is intricate piercing on the bowl. There is an intricate monogram on the handle (matching item #533) and the condition is excellent.

A pair of scrolling cast bronze chenet with good chasing. The iron backbars are probably replacements. Approximately 12 inches tall, 11 inches across (each one) and with backbars about 16 inches deep.

The condition is excellent without any losses. Could really shine if that is the desired finish.

A striking and extremely rare hooked rug featuring a peacock displaying its beautiful plumage. This is a very graphically strong depiction, striking in its design.

One of the factors that contributes greatly to the rarity is the use of silver metallic threads circling the "eyes" of the peacock's feathers. The color range in the rug is beautiful, with no jarring clashes. All dyes are natural, with no use of artificial coloring...

This is a beautiful, French cameo glass vase, made by DeVez, a contemporary of Daum Freres of Nancy, France. The banjo vase is 6 1/4 inches (16 cm) tall. The vase is in excellent condition (there is a fabrication flaw on the top rim of the vase, typical of hand-made items - see last picture). Polished pontil.

A nicely decorated flaring oval fruit or chestnut basket with openwork sides and handles at either end. The red stencil mark on the base of an “A” with a crown is that of the factory at the Rue Thiroux under Marie Antoinette’s protection. It is decorated with sprigs on the bottom of the inside, dots at the intersection of the open weave sides, stripes of red and blue alternating with white on the base, a blue line around the handle and a gilt rim with dentil gilding on the outside edge. This is a STERLING ART NOUVEAU CLOTHES BRUSH from an Eastern Shore Maryland Estate. Dimensions of this ANTIQUE piece: 1 1/2" wide X 6 1/4" long X 1 5/8" including the Brush. A fine example of early American folk art. Generally classed as fraktur type, paintings such as these were done by children, and were often, as this one was, painted on a page from a ledger or notebook. This particular piece is a charming depiction of an eagle, and is housed in a period frame with good surface.

The painting is in very good condition, with good color, and no tears or creases. It does have some very common spots of discoloration which might well have been there since the paint...

This is a Shaker hand sewn needle case make by the Shaker sisters and sold in their gift shops. It is a brown and beige silk fabric with a white flannel interior to hold the pins and needles. It is 4" by 4". and is in nice condition with wear to a bit of the ribbon.

This pattern on our watch chain comes from an ancient technique of decorating silver, known as niello. Niello which was revived in the 19th century and adopted by English jewelry artisans. A Very Interesting Sugar Caster from the workshops of the Duchess of Sutherland's Cripples Guild of Handicrafts circa 1910. This is made of hand wrought copper that has been gold plated, based on an 18th century English example in the Duchess's collection. Measures about 10 3/4" tall. Rare example.

Turn-of-the-century sterling silver baby set rich in period assumptions. Made by William B. Kerr in Newark. This set comprises cup, bowl, and plate.

Cup has acid-etched frieze depicting sailor-suited, flag-holding, all-American boy with exotic coevals in native dress relegated to background. Imagery enhanced with verse: “Little Indian, Sioux or Crow, little frosty Eskimo, little Turk or Japanese—Oh! Don’t you wish that you were me?”
