Dinner plate in Sevres pattern but probably Minton c. 1850

A soft paste porcelain dinner plate unmarked, but probably Minton. In the “feuille de choux” pattern with hand painted flowers, blue accents and heavy gilding. These knock offs of 18th century Sevres were popular from the mid 19th century (c.1850) onwards and Minton made many of the very good ones. 9 ½ inches (24 cm) diameter.

Condition: no chips, cracks, hairlines or repairs...

A very nice pair of Staffordshire spaniels highlighted with gilt decoration. Each dog wears a collar with a padlock and a chain. The muzzles are decorated with pink and black overglaze enamel, and the eyes are set with glass eyes. Both have the whimsical "Joan Crawford" eyebrows. Spaniels with glass eyes, although a bit later than some of the other Staffordshire figures, are difficult to find.

Beautiful "Copper Lustre" paint accents a central yellow band with copper colored, feather detailing. Interior rim is painted in a pink lustre band.

Condition is quite fine with no damage or repair. Some expected light wear from actual use to painted rim and base and a teeny firing imperfection on the handle that is not readily evident to the eye.

A rare comical stoneware lidded jar in the shape of a blowfish by Mark V. Marshall for Doulton Lambeth, circa 1885. This globular vessel stands on three fin feet and the lid has a fin shaped handle. The entire piece is glazed in rich green, white and brown tones. The underside bears an impressed "Doulton Lambeth" mark, signature, and other incised factory marks. In excellent condition, it measures 6.5 inches high and 5.25" diameter.

This porcelain tea cup and saucer was produced in England by Copeland between 1851 and 1885. The saucer is 4 3/4 inches square and the cup is 2 1/2 inches high. The set has molded decorations in the porcelain. It is made of fine, white bone china. The decoration is inspired by the Japanese Imari pattern. A wonderful Victorian ironstone footed fruit compote decorated in an underglaze blue floral pattern. Distinctly Asian in flavor, the pattern depicts prunus blossoms and peonies surrounded by rocky outcroppings, foliage and hovering butterflies. The edges are finished in a diaper border.
