This is a fine sterling silver napkin ring with a Gorham mark made in the Victorian period, ca 1860, brite cut with scrolling flowers and monogrammed RCW. Condition is very good having small surface dings; Measurement: 1 5/8 in. diam. x 1 in. high.

Elaborately handled server by Reed & Barton in the "Love Disarmed" pattern. It has the old hallmarks dating back to 1899. This piece is in excellent condition, the figure on the handle and all of the repousse work are very crisp. Originally an asparagus server, it can be used for so many things. It has lovely piercings on the flat portion, and it shows no wear. It measures approximately 11.25" long and 3.75" at its widest. It weighs 255 grams. It is not monogrammed.

Unusual antique French Limoges gold trimmed porcelain oyster plate depicting different sea grasses. In excellent condition, it measures 9.5" diameter.

NOTE: A very interesting technique was used to create the effect of underwater movement. They 1st printed the image in light green, then printed the same image in dark pink over it, but slightly offset. Where the images overlapped, it created a 3rd color, brown, which establishes the main part of the plant.

A spectacular set of 15 hand blown crystal cordial glasses manufactured in Bohemia by Moser circa 1880, each hand cut and decorated with elaborate raised gold flowers and leaves, comprising a mixture of colors, shapes and stems. The glasses measure 4 inches high and the diameter of the openings vary between 1 1/2 inches to 1 3/4"inches. The lip and base of each piece is banded. Excellent antique condition. Minor gold loss to some of banding. Extremely delicate and a find!

A lovely teal green blow glass hyacinth or bulb vase in the classic cone shape. The flared rim was intended to hold a hyacinth or other bulb just above the water line to root. Forcing bulbs was a popular Victorian pursuit and hyacinth vases were lovely adornments for kitchen and conservatory windows. The teal green is an unusual shade. The bottom has a sheared pontil.

Great pair of cast iron owl andirons with glass eyes that light up from the flames of the fire. They measure 15" tall X 9 1/2" wide x 16" deep, are attributed to Howes Foundry of Boston, Mass., and are from the 1880s. They are marked on the side of the rail #918-1 and Made in USA, and on the back of the owl 3000 and the number 2. They are in excellent original condition with no damage, including the glass eyes.

A beautiful sterling silver berry or casserole spoon in Whiting's desirable 1896 "Dresden" pattern. The handle is decorated on both sides with sprays of roses. The matte gilt bowl is scalloped and decorated with repousse beading and volutes. The spoon is stamped with Whiting's hallmark and has the patent date indicating an early date of manufacture.

A pair of soft paste porcelain underglaze hand painted blue and white porcelain plates in the “La Mouche” pattern. These have a mark that I can’t identify, though they may well be a workman’s factory mark. The pattern of the fly buzzing a bush is distinctively from the Tournai factory. The pair of shallow soup plates are 9 1/8 inches (22.86 cm) diameter.

Condition: No chips, cracks, hairlines or repairs. Use and stacking wear on both sides of both soups.

So Special! Large and old double-sided blacksmithing trade sign.

Fabulous and extremely rare hand-forged iron trade sign in the form of a pretzel. The sign retains an old gilt surface. There is a strong trace of red, yellow and blue paint on the back side and edges of the pretzel, no doubt the colors that were used on the wall or backboard to which the sign was attached through the 13 mounting holes. Absolutely beautiful silver plate tray with center crest and decoration, handles on each end and fabulous serpentine, reticulated edges. This tray is marked by the maker, but I couldn't find the mark. It is old and in excellent condition. It measures 29 1/2" long x 22" deep.

For several reasons, this is a very unusual basket. To start with a basic description, it is a very large (17" by 17" by 15 1/4"), square, covered splint basket from the Maine area, most probably made by the Penobscot Indian tribe. Many baskets of this type are of splint, colored with vegetable dyes. Some have the added design of potato stamped patterns on the splints.

A fine early 19th century silver tastevin in the 17th century Burgundian style, inset with a Louis XIV silver ecu coin. The coin is surrounded by a “couronne” of 27 perles from which extend elongated “godrons”. Extremely rare pair of Victorian cast iron flamingo garden ornaments. Dating from the late 19th century, these flamingos are exceptional. I've seen many later versions in concrete or plastic, but never another pair this old or made of cast iron. A large, heavily potted English pitcher with an applied strap handle. All of the strong floral decoration is handpainted except for the blue flowers which where the paint was stamped on with a cut sponge. Though it could be earlier the later date of circa 1880 is conservative. 7 3/8 inches tall, 9 ¼ inches across the handle.

Condition: Handle broken and restuck, glaze chips on the spout, firing flaw on the bottom, crazing, glaze chips on the spout and minor spots.

This pair of porcelain plates was produced in England by Copelands China in the 1880s for the retailer J.E. Caldwell of Philadelphia. They measure 8 1/8 inches in diameter. The porcelain blanks are fluted and scalloped. The ground color is salmon pink. They are decorated with an elaborate pattern of raised enamel beads and intricate gilding. This Victorian serving piece is a small sterling silver ladle made by Whiting and perfect for pouring a fruit sauce over that special dessert. It is unusual to find such a striking multi-colored basket of such size and in such wonderful condition. The splint basket, with its wooden handle, is from the Northeast area of the United States, and is done in shades of blue-green, orange-red, and brown.

The basket is 18" long, 12" wide, and 14 " to the top of the handle. Overall condition is excellent, with only one splint split on the interior, not visible from the outside.
