Sterling silver sugar spoon with very fine decoration of a peacock amidst trailing foliage. The bowl is parcel gilt and is decorated with bright-cut engraving. The reverse is marked "Sterling". Before 1916, many American silversmiths did not mark their name on flatware.

This beautifully decorated Bohemian wine goblet is in the style of Josephinenhutte, ca. 1885, finely enamelel and gilt design of an oak leaf and acorn pattern framed with a stylized branch pattern below the bowl rim, colorless crystal bowl resting on a fluid green stem and leaf encircled foot. Measurement-8 in H; Bowl design is finely detailed with minor wear, wear to design and rim banding on foot.

An exceptionally attractive transferware bowl in the Milanese Pavilion pattern having fruit and floral images around the rim while two elegantly attired ladies converse on the pavilion. The back stamp bears the J H & Co mark of Joshua Heath & Co and dates to c. 1840 While the bowl is visually magnificent, it has a 2 3/4" hairline crack for which we have drastically reduced the price and for which we would consider reasonable offers. Decorated Meissen Porcelain made in Dresden, Germany. The cup and saucer both depict a man and woman in 18th century garments in a garden. Flowers and decorative gold scroll line the rim of the cup and border of the saucer. The saucer is 4 inches in diameter and the cup is 3 inches in diameter and 2 inches in height.

A blue and white hand painted Canton oval serving dish with a rain cloud border under stars and an outward turned rim decorated with lines of rain. The interior with the usual Canton scene including bridge, pagodas, sailboats and islands in the distance. This is an unusual, wonderful, and beautifully done folk art example of a tinsel or foil painting. The vast majority of tinsel paintings are of flowers. This rarity depicts a bluebird hovering over a basket filled with pears, a melon, and apples. A cluster of cherries, and bunches of grapes and foliage surround the basket. Colors are deep and very vibrant, and include blues, purple, brown, various shades of yellow and green, white, reds, and others...

A pretty Victorian sterling silver berry or preserves spoon in Towle’s 1887 “Clover” pattern. Both the handle and bowl are decorated with bright-cut engraving of clover flowers and foliage. The bowl has a scalloped upper border, repoussed lobes, and matte gilding. The back is marked with Towle’s hallmark and the patent date.

This is a Beautiful Pair of Porcelain Figural Candelabras. These candelabra depict a young lady and young man in a lovely garden scene. We believe these candelabras to date to around the late 1800's. Extremely elegant Louis XV-style French silver master salt dip with cobalt glass liners. The shapes of the containers remind me of Louis XV bombe commodes. The repousse design is very architectural in nature, and makes use of numerous decorative elements such as fluted columns, ribbons, cartouches, and pendant bellflowers. Surprisingly, none of the four cartouches has ever been monogrammed. Although intended for salt only, this piece could be used today to serve both salt and pepper...

A very unusual Bohemian zwischengoldglass liquor glass, the bottom featuring an inset gilt and enameled design of a ladybug. The panel cutting along the beaker’s sides causes the design to be visually repeated. Small beakers such as these are normally decorated with a flower. This is the only example we’ve seen with an insect. The ladybug traditionally symbolizes good luck, so perhaps that's why it appears here.

Tinsel paintings of this type are almost a completely American form, becoming highly popular around 1870, and continuing into the mid 20th century...

This porcelain demitasse cup and saucer was produced in England by Coalport in the 1890s. The saucer has a diameter of 3 1/2 inches and the cup is 1 3/4 inches high. The cup shape is blown out and scalloped on the rim. The saucer is shaped the same way. The ground color is apple green enamel. Delicate gilded swags encircle both pieces. The handle, interior of the cup and well of the saucer are richly gilded. Condition: Excellent

A lovely cobalt blue blown glass hyacinth or bulb vase in the classic cone shape. The flared rim was intended to hold a hyacinth or other bulb just above the water line to root. Forcing bulbs was a popular Victorian pursuit and hyacinth vases were lovely adornments for kitchen and conservatory windows. The quality of glass is very good and cobalt blue is a desirable color. A very well designed and executed eight point Star of Bethlehem pieced cotton quilt with excellent quilting. The pieces around the edges are white with very small pale blue printed sprigs. The pieces for the star are all solid colors. The backing is printed green cotton in a small pattern. Quilted with feather wreaths in the corners and partial ones between the points of the stars. All of the sewing is done by hand. 72 inches square.

A Large Victorian Silver Plate Fish Slice Set with Ivory Handles, by Atkin Brothers, Sheffield, circa 1880. The Ivory Handles are slightly mellowed and have age splits in each handle. Very rare sterling silver individual berry spoon in Whiting's 1891 "Louis XV" pattern. This is a rare form and the unusual broad shape of the bowl matches that shape of the large berry serving spoons. The bowl is lightly gilt. The back is stamped with Whiting's hallmark, the patent date (indicating an older piece) and the retailer's mark "Jacquemin & Co."

A large and exceptional example of fine American tinsel or foil painting featuring a pair of pheasants on branches, surrounded by a wreath of flowers. The scene has the rare "snowflake" type of background. Although tinsel painting was at its height in America from 1850 to 1890 the snowflake technique appears to have been done primarily in the 1870's period.
