This miniature porcelain cup and saucer was produced in Germany by Helena Wolfsohn in the 1880s. The saucer is 3 inches in diameter and the cup is 1 1/2 inches high. The set is hand painted in the Meissen style. There are alternating panels of yellow with flowers and scenes of lovers in gardens. The set is trimmed with lacy gilding. This cup and saucer was a display piece or collector’s item. Condition: Excellent

A nicely decorated document box featuring red and black grain painting, the edges with yellow and green striping.

The box is 13 1/4 inches in length, 7 1/4 inches in depth, and 6 1/2 inches tall. Overall condition is excellent, with no cracks or breaks, and virtually all of the original, unrestored paint is present. The lock and hinges are original and in fine shape. There is the normal amount of wear along some of the box edges.

A well decorated, monogrammed and marked hard paste porcelain plate. The outside border is decorated with a narrow peach ground and elaborate gilding with green dots and red lines. It includes a monogram dominated by the letter "R." The center of the plate is decorated with a hand painted white morning glory.

The maroon printed mark, "Ch.PILLIVUYT &Cie/PARIS/EXP 1867/MEDAILLE D'OR" is printed inside a dotted oval under the base. Charles Pillivuyt was a well-established porcelain manufacturer...

Nineteenth century classic folk art, an American weathervane of a galloping horse, dimensions 28" by 15" by 3", with contemporary birch wood block mount for display. The piece was acquired in Connecticut. Weather vanes are not my specialty. I know that there are recognized makers (Harris?) but cannot attribute this to any particular source. The piece had bullet holes that have been fixed and smoothed over, so, work has been done to this...

Very nice Chinese export porcelain tea pot in Canton decoration. The slightly tapered drum-shaped body is decorated with typical Canton scenes of islands, bridges, boats, etc. and is accented with a raincloud border along the top edge. The lid, spout and handle are also decorated with typical motifs. The color is very nice with terrific clarity and depth. Likewise, the body is of nice color.

This seal features Cupid, quiver slung over his shoulder, standing by an altar sacrificing a heart and reads, Je Vous L'offre, "I offer it (my heart) to you". Lovely melon shaped Mt. Washington biscuit jar with handpainted pastel flowers. This jar is in perfect condition with no chips, cracks or repairs, and measures 5 1/" to the top of the lid x 5 1/2" diameter.

An Arts & Crafts Hand Wrought Copper Box from the workshops of the Forest Craft Guild in Grand Rapids, Michigan. Measures about 5 1/2" by 3", green patina with original leather interior. A fine example of their work.

A fine example of the rare Lowestoft porcelain "Mandarin Green Window" pattern made between 1768 and 1775.

The bowl and saucer are in very good condition, with the saucer having a small flaw, which appears to be in the making, at the edge at 11 o'clock. The bowl has no issues at all. Colors are much stronger than shown in the photos. The saucer is 5" in diameter, and the bowl is 1 3/4" in height.

Elegant 19th C. chocolate or demitasse coffee pot by Shreve & Co. Measures 10 5/8" tall and 7 3/4" wide (including spout and handle). There are two ivory insets in the beautiful elongated handle. One side has an engraved stag's head. Marks on base include an "S" on each side of a bell, "Shreve & Co., Sterling, San Francisco". On close inspection, I noticed a small dent on the underside of the spout (near top). Otherwise, excellent condition, inside and out. Circa 1890.

Victorian Classical sterling silver paper knife. Made by Tiffany & Co. in New York, ca 1885. Serpentine and integral with hollow handle tapering into flat blade. Handle has allover floral repousse with feathered leaf border at bottom. Blade recto has acid-etched monogram with elongated, interlaced, and whiplash letters. Fully marked including maker’s stamp, director’s letter M (1873-91), and no. 730. Very good condition.

Circa 1830 from Pennsylvania, this pieced cotton quilt features the North Star pattern. All hand stitched, it has strong geometric shapes. Colors are red, white and various purples. A very nice mauchline ware wooden hinged box decorated with seven Washington, DC scenes. American scenes are more difficult to find than English or Scottish scenes, and to find seven different images of the Washington DC area is most uncommon. The box retains its original blue silk lining. With the exception of Mount Vernon, all the buildings had been completed only 5-15 years before this piece was produced.

An extremely fine and rare friendship wine glass, or goblet, of Newcastle light baluster (NLB) type with its original cover, superbly engraved c1760 by Jacob Sang, the master engraver from Amsterdam. The flared round funnel bowl features a pair of clasped hands flanked by a pair of stylized cornucopiae and surmounted by a crown. Typical of Sang's work is the fine polished detail. The reverse is inscribed, in the unmistakable hand of Sang, with a poem written c1740 by Dirk Smits Gedichten of Rott...

This porcelain figurine was produced in Germany by Nymphenburg in 1913. It has the first quality impressed shield colored blue and printed mark on the bottom. Niki is incised on the front of the base. This piece is pictured on the cover of “Nymphenburger Moderne” by Alfred Ziffer. It measures 12 1/2 inches tall, 9 inches long and 7 inches deep.
