A nicely decorated document box featuring red and black grain painting, the edges with yellow and green striping.
The box is 13 1/4 inches in length, 7 1/4 inches in depth, and 6 1/2 inches tall. Overall condition is excellent, with no cracks or breaks, and virtually all of the original, unrestored paint is present. The lock and hinges are original and in fine shape. There is the normal amount of wear along some of the box edges.

A lovely Chinese export porcelain plate, the center decorated with a court scene depicting nobles welcoming a visitor bearing a staff and basket of fruit. The scene is very nicely enameled in the famille rose palette. The border is decorated in a trellis pattern in green enamels—a most unusual treatment for a Mandarin plate. Mold number 913 size C with incised decoration of squares in a band at the shoulder of the vase. Vase is a yellow clay body, covered in a green to red Butterfat matte glaze. Flame Mark, with numerals for 1915, mold and size, with finishers mark for Ewan. Height of vase is 9 inches. A set of six hand painted porcelain plates with floral bouquets in the well and a gold band around the edge. The mark of KPM with the initials and the scepter in underglaze blue was used from 1837 to 1844. The size would indicate that they are dessert plates, though they are deeper than most. They are 7 inches diameter (18 cm) and 1 inch (2.5 cm) deep.
