This mid 19th century folk art crazy quilt is a wonderful mix of richly colored silks and hand embellished surface stitches. The back is a green cotton sateen fabric tied with floss. Eighty seven silk tags create a whimsical border around the entire piece. Taken from a house used as part of the Underground Railroad during the Civil War, we believe this piece was the energetic work of a child learning how to sew. A stunning 18th century English champagne or sweetmeat glass having a double ogee bowl with an everted lip above a single merise. The 8 sided Silesian (molded) stem surmounts a basal collar above a domed foot. A superb and flawless example.

An important antique drinking glass, a beautiful tall Newcastle light baluster (NLB), featuring the Dutch engraved coat of arms of Kurt Christof, Count von Schwerin. The engraved border has a pair of sitting doves, foliage, and a single dove about to take flight. The large pointed round funnel bowl sits atop an inverted baluster knop, above an angular knop, which in turn is above a true baluster knop...

Beautifully designed large Art Nouveau pewter plate bathed in silver with a scene of a hunting dog camying its prey. The back of the plate contains a ring used for hanging. Seals of the manufacturer are located on the back.

A wonderful molded pedestal glass with an unusually large pointed round funnel bowl above a crisp 6 sided hollow Silesian stem; folded foot. 6 1/4" tall, 2 3/4" bowl diameter, 2.8" foot diameter

Although the glass is soda, the lead-like ring to it, combined with its extremely high overall quality strongly indicates a Tyneside (N. England) origin.

A fine English drinking glass with a pointed round funnel bowl engraved with grapes and vines above a double merise (rare) and a short plain stem section, all above a multiple-spiral air twist (MSAT) stem with an inverted baluster shoulder knop and an angular medial knop. The plain section, although short, combined with the air twist might allow classifying this glass as a composite stem type. Conical foot with a rough snapped pontil.

A finely detailed ornate mesh purse with handle. Made of 800 silver with a floral design around the clasp. The interior contains a unique mesh coin purse. One of the enlarged photos shows a small area under the clasp missing a hoop which we can easily repair if so desired. We can also polish the purse free of charge.

The most common type of air twist found in mid-18th century English glasses is the multiple spiral air twist (MSAT). Double series air twists are occasionally found, but triple series twists are incredibly rare, with very few still in existence. This particular example has an ogee bowl leading into a stem with a central air core surrounded by a two ply heavy thread which is in turn surrounded by a three ply heavy thread...

A Royal Rudolstadt (Prussia) Swan Shaped Open Tureen, in a pale blue (could also be used as a planter). Dimensions; 11" x 8" x 8.5" high. Circa 1900. Excellent condition.

A large Dresden Porcelain Ewer by Sitzendorf (Thuringia, Germany). It is heavily decorated with puttis and weighs 4 lbs. 10 oz. and measures 15" high x 7" wide. It dates from 1887-1896. There is a slight chip on the hoof below the lip of the ewer, otherwise in excellent condition.

Unusually large 19th Century ivory page turner, smooth blade with a large tapered grip handle. The Victorians used page turners to protect the pages of valuable books from damage; they were also used to protect the hands from newsprint. Measurement: length: 18 3/4 inches. Large pewter claret jug. Highly ornate Art Nouveau pewter raised with blue-tinted reservoir glass, showing frieze. A vine and leaf decoration with figures overlay the jug. Possibly made in Germany. Late 19th. Century.

Wine rinsers or wine washers were used to cool or rinse wine glasses between courses of meals. At formal meals of this type, beer or ale would not be served. Therefore, the engraving of hops and barley on this rinser is very unusual and a bit inexplicable, as this type engraving was specifically used on ale glasses. The rinser is 3 1/2" tall and 4' in diameter.

A beautiful facet cut ale glass with gilded hops and barley, decorated by the famous and much desired craftsman, James Giles. The facet cutting extends from the base, through the stem and 1/3 up the bowl.

Standing 5 7/8 inches tall, with a bowl diameter of 2 3/8 inches, and a foot diameter of 2 1/2 inches, the glass is of 2 part construction and is in superb condition, with no chips, cracks, or restoration...

A fine cut crystal decanter with faceted stopper, early 20th century American Brilliant Period. The slightly rounded shape is comprised of finely cut squares with patterned centers, hand blown faceted stopper. Size: 8" H x 3.75" W. Condition: Decanter is clean and sparkling with age appropriate wear. No interior cloudiness, minor flaking and chip to face of one square. A nice addition to any collection or a stand out on its' own.

It is highly uncommon for dram size glasses to have a domed foot, and this is a superb example. The ogee bowl is above a double series opaque twist (DSOT) stem consisting of spiral bands outside of central spiral tapes. Rough snapped pontil.

4 1/4" tall, 1 7/8" diameter bowl, 2 5/8" diameter foot.

The fully ribbed round funnel bowl on this glass elevates it above the ordinary into an elegant and striking wine glass. The double series opaque twist stem consists of a spiral band surrounding a single spiral tape. Rough snapped pontil. There has been a slight polish to a small section of the foot, probably to remove a nick, as it has not reduced the foot size at all.

5 1/4" tall, 2 1/8" bowl diameter, 2 1/2" foot diameter.

This 19th Century American Brilliant period cut glass compote with a shallow bowl and a tall stem ending in a star base would be the perfect presentation for an assortment of handmade chocolate truffles on a holiday buffet. A single series air twist (SSAT) stem, much less common than the normal multiple spiral air twist (MSAT); a pleasing glass with a trumpet bowl; 7" tall, 3.3" diameter foot, 3.1" diameter bowl

This is a sparkling 19th Century American Brilliant period cut glass bowl in an intricate sixteen point hobstar motif with skillfully executed deep miter cuts. Condition: several very tiny chips on the rim edge; barely noticeable. Measurement: 4" high x 8" diam.

Probably the nicest cut glass pitcher I've every seen! This pitcher, which is unbelievable heavy, has a wide rim that is Gorham sterling with beautiful flowers on it. It is engraved "Presented to Benjamin L. Stowe, Vice President of Eureka Fire Hose Company by his fellow officers and employees of the Company upon his 50th birthday anniversary, February 18, 1898...

Exquisite cut glass flower centre bowl in the Glenwood pattern by J. D. Burgen, 1899. This bowl was made in three sizes, and this 12 inch one is the largest of the three. It is in perfect original condition, with no chips, cracks or repairs. It is referenced and pictured in the Encyclopedia of American Cut and Engraved Glass by Michael Pearson, Volume 1, page 58.

It is very unusual to find a true set of 18th century lead glass English roehmers, even in the green color which is the most common. To find this deep and beautiful amethyst color set was truly exceptional.

An elegant and beautiful lead Jacobite toasting glass engraved by "Engraver B" in Seddon's book. The drawn trumpet bowl has a 6 petal rose, an open rose bud to its left, and a closed rose bud to its right.

Over the years there have been various interpretations of these symbols, and even now it can be argued that the rose represents either the Crown of England or James, the Old Pretender...

Beautiful European car dish made using the "aqua-fortis" technique which is a type of etching. In this technique, plates of copper, steel, zinc, etc. are covered with a varnish and then blackened with black-smoke. A hand tool is used to remove the varnish, exposing the raw metal. The varnish is then covered with wax. Nitric acid (aqua-fortis) is spilled onto the surface will corrode the parts devoid of varnish. Inscription reads F. BOUCHER , PASTORALE...

Conical foot with a rough, snapped pontil.

Metal alloy and silver box with a finely detailed "aguafuerte" style etching of an outdoor gathering located on the top of the box. There are two inscriptions located above and below the etching. The top inscription reads "D'APRES LANCRET" while the bottom inscription reads "LE COLIN-MAILLARD". Circa 1900.
