An absolutely gorgeous hand carved French casket with fruitwood, rosewood, and satinwood marquetry. The detailing throughout the whole casket is excellent with the inside lid also featuring marquetry. The inside of the box is lined with dark blue velvet and has a lovely lift-out tray. Ideal for jewelry, the box still has its original key and the lock works. In excellent condition with a beautiful rich warm patina, it measures 11.5 inches by 7.25" and 4.75" high. With its original powder puff made with either cygnet (baby swan) or gosling (baby goose) down, this American brilliant cut glass dresser box measures 5" diameter, 3" high. The lid is sterling silver and does has some dents around the edges. The cut glass is perfect.

A fancy ornate brass oval frame having trefoil cartouches with leaves and edged with beading encircle the mirror held up by easel stand whose stretcher is detached from the frame. However the stand is still most functional. The frame is a very elegant reminder of a lost craft. It opens by gently lowering the dog's hinged head which releases the peaked roof form lid which opens to a tin lined interior. The whole is mounted on a plinth base with brass beading. An olive wood box, the lid decorated with an oval panel depicting an Italian couple, in the marquetry work typical of Sorrento. Late 19th c or around 1900. On the front is written Bellagio, meaning that the box was sold in this lovely resort by Lake Como as a souvenir. Width "8½/ 22 cm, height "2¾/ 7 cm and depth "6/15,5 cm. Condition: fine, except for the small key which is best left unturned, since it is difficult to maneuvre.

Rare Antique Chinese Export red lacquer melon-form tea caddy with six loebed sides, three gilt dragon paw feet, gilt decoration of figures in gardens on body and hinged lid with carved “stem,” opening to a similarly shaped tin liner. Federal 19th Century polished Brass and Steel Fire Place Tongs or Log Holder, Ca. 1830, 26" high, Brass handle and Steel Tongs, nicely clean and polished, ready to use in your home.

Well made old storage basket, circa 1950s, acquired in Lombok, Nusa Tenggara, Indonesia in the 1980s this has been in storage since then. This has a slight trapezoidal shape to the lid and body. Excellent condition- no damage. Top- W: 24cm/9.5in x 21.5cm/8.4in and H: 9.5cm/3.8in.

This fascinating tobacco box dates back to the late 19th century and originates from Imperial Russia. The box is made of papier-mache, a material that was widely used in Russia during that time period. What makes this box truly exceptional is the intricate hand-painted design on its hinged lid.
