A very rare fresh to the market Federal American Mirror , carved Gilt wood with original beveled mirror. Made for a home in the Georgetown historic neighborhood of Washington DC, built in 1800. It has not been moved from the house since it was originally purchased. Condition is incredibly fresh

A fancy ornate brass oval frame having trefoil cartouches with leaves and edged with beading encircle the mirror held up by easel stand whose stretcher is detached from the frame. However the stand is still most functional. The frame is a very elegant reminder of a lost craft. Small table snuff box made of lacquered papier-maché, the glass lid with reverse engraved and painted decoration. Inside is a shell and two strands of hair. There is no lock; the snuff box was intended not to be carried around in a pocket, but to be placed on a shelf or a table where it displayed well. Probably Scandinavian, made around 1800 or earlier, unusual. Diameter 2" / 5 cm, height ¾ "/ 2 cm. Condition: the mirror glass cracked, wear consistent with age (cf pics).

Circa 1900, table size burlwood box with an unusual scalloped skirt. Was probably a jewelry box as there is a mirror on the inside lid and indications that there was once a tray inside. Original velvet lining. In excellent antique condition, it measures 12.5ʺ wide, 6.25ʺ deep, and 5ʺ high.

Large Georgian Tea Chest in nicely figured mahogany; rectangular with quarter column corners, having a stepped lid surmounted by a brass carrying handle and opening to a fitted interior retainiing two tin tea caddies and a sugar box and the whole raised on ogee bracket feet...

A beautiful mahogany shaped knife box made of solid sides and fitted with slotted board to hold knives. The cyma and creased shaped front supports a non-working brass lock escutcheon and opening handle. The corners are molded. The cover is decorated with a star inside, and attached with brass hinges. The base of the box is also molded. Over all, the design and construction are sumptuous.

A Scottish wood travelling tobacco or pipe box, wonderfully and fulsomely decorated with penwork. The scene on the top shows two older men arguing or bargaining, in front of what appear to be farm buildings. Under this is "And test Me nhow auld boy" followed by the initials HC. The sides and bottom of the box are decorated with finely drawn rows of leaves...

Exceptional Sheraton Tea Chest in satinwood banded in rosewood and with ebony and boxwood stringing: having a rectangular hinged lid with silverplated pull opening to an interior with two fitted tea caddies with oval lids and similar inlaid decoration. English, circa 1790.

A fine and completely fitted English rosewood lap desk, or travelling desk. The top plaque and keyhole escutcheon are mother-of pearl. The interior has two silver covered glass sander jars (minor dents), two glass inkwells, three compartments with wood covers, a leather blotter, and a velvet pad. All these are in a lift out tray. There is a drop down leather writing surface...

Exceptional bombé tea caddy in “tiger” tortoiseshell, having a pagoda shaped top opening to an interior with two lidded compartments. Circa 1800-20. ProbablyDutch.
