This is a very nice all original very small paint decorated box. It is all original and including the lock and key but the lock I think been disabled. The boards are thick for such a small box and the nails are also oversized for the box. It is the kind of thing that makes you smile...

English Chippindale period Mahogany Looking Glass, Mirror, Ca. 1780, 37" high, 20 1/2" wide, 1 1/4" deep, original Gilded Phoenix Bird in the center reticulated open framed top, original glass mirror bordered by original gold inner frame. The backing is old replacement and there are some repair of the carved top area, reinforced with thin pieces of wood in the back.

Outstanding American late Classical mirror framed in solid well-figured mahogany with a gilt applied composition border of bellflowers. The gilding has a particularly rich patina. The glass is old and 1/4" thick, but probably not original, and has dulled to a very nice patina. The plate is backed with a wood panel that is covered with paper. The nails holding the plate in place have been replaced.

An interesting antique silver plated pinioned-lid stamp box c1880-1890. This 2-5/8" x 1-1/2" unsigned box features a floral corner applique and two applied butterflies on the top, a pin stop and corner swinging pivot. The interior has remnants of what appears to be adhesive from some missing material and it has two cutout felt pieces; it would make a nice tiny jewel box also...

Rectangular black laquered snuffbox enhanced with mustard- and red-painted decoration on all six surfaces. The inside of the lid is engraved "Alexr> C. Stark/Paterson, NJ". American, ca. 1830. Excellent condition, showing slight surface wear where Mr. Stark (obviously a right handed gentlemen) placed his thumb to open the box.

Three rectangular drawers line the top, and below are two large rectangular doors with a large brass backplate resembling a flower or sun. Rare George III Ambry in mahogany having an hinged arched top opening to a well and a paneled cabinet door flanked py pilasters, and the whole raised on ball feet. A tortoise shell and sterling silver inlay cigarette box, the interior cedar wood. The underline of the text with makers mark for Saunders & Shepherd (the firm founded in 1869 and still working), town mark for their Chester branch and L for 1894. Measures "4 / 10.3 cm x "4 / 10 x "2/ 5 cm. Condition: slight warping to the corners of the lid (cf. pics).
Purchased over 40 years ago at Restoration Hardware, this archaic style bronze ram's head was the only piece they had in their store. I suspect it was a decorative item that RH purchased as an accent piece for one of their room settings. The holes on this reproduction ram indicates that the original bronze ram was affixed to an instrument. An impressive piece, this was probably made in the first decade of the 20th C Measures 14" long, 7.5" high, and 12" across the horns.
Unusual pair of black lacquer small traveling hinged boxes. Each box is the same size with three individually sized drawers located behind the hinged front door. All original hand forged iron hardware. Side handles swivel up allowing insert of a hardwood pole for ease of carrying them about.
