Unusual Wood Tea Caddy or Tobacco Box in the form of a doghouse with brass nails and door surround and with a brass dog sitting outside. It opens by gently lowering the dog's hinged head which releases the peaked roof form lid which opens to a tin lined interior. The whole is mounted on a plinth base with brass beading. Circa 1870, probably Black Forest.

Large 19th Century Scandinavian pudding or butter box hand caved with intricate foliage in deep relief. The lid is held in position by two upstanding wings and a carved wooden pin inserts on one side to further secure the lid. In excellent condition it measures 12 inches high an 9.75" diameter.

19th century tortoise shell box on 4 wooden bun feet. Still has with original key and lock works. In very good antique condition, there are some cracks throughout the tortoise shell. One hinge, see last photo, is slightly damaged, but does not comprise the box in that the lid is not loose. Measures 7 5/8 inches wide, 5 1/4" wide, 2 3/4" high

Antique, late 18th or early 19th century, imperial Russian casket, or chest, veneered with bone in a manner characteristic of the 18th-century works of Khalkogory artisans from the Arkhangelsk region.

The Kholmogorsky District of Arkhangelsk Oblast is located near the port of Arkhangelsk on the White Sea coast. It was a significant trading post in the far north of the Russian Empire.

A very rare and superb Octagon British Wooden TEA CADDY WITH TORTOISE SHELL AND MOTHER OF PEARL inlays, ca. 1800. The top knob for opening and the 4 small feet are made of bone. The tea caddy comes with the original key and the mechanism works well. Size: height 17 cm. including the knob and feet (15 cm without) x width 12 cm. Very good condition. A fine Collector's piece! Rare, circa 1860, English walnut tea caddy featuring nice clean lines with its only decoration being the word “TEA” inlaid in sterling silver. The lid is hinged and the interior features two separate rectangular compartments with removable wooden lids for storage. Circa English 1870, a rare faux burl walnut book slide featuring a pair of gilt brass gothic revival style mounts enclosing an oval Sevres hand painted porcelain plaque of a woman. The faux painted burl wood and is quite exceptional in detail, depth and richness of color. Note: one brad missing in a lower right corner (see 2nd photo). In very good antique condition, it measures 6.25 inches high, 5.75” deep, and 13” long. Extends up to 22.5” long.

American high quality multiple step deep carved rectangle size Mirror, 38" high, 47" wide, 4 3/4" deep, the gold frame itself is 6 1/2" wide and 4 3/4" deep with multiple step, circa 1920, wide deep carved floral and wreath of berry and vines on inner frame and more floral wreath on outer frame, high and low relief carved design with polished and highlighted with burnished gold finish on the entire frame. The quality of work is very good and gilding is superb quality...

Outstanding American late Classical mirror framed in solid well-figured mahogany with a gilt applied composition border of bellflowers. The gilding has a particularly rich patina. The glass is old and 1/4" thick, but probably not original, and has dulled to a very nice patina. The plate is backed with a wood panel that is covered with paper. The nails holding the plate in place have been replaced.

Origin: America, probably mid-Atlantic region, ca. 1840...

Japanese Edo Period Satsuma Large Bowl 11 3/4 x 2 1/4 in. In beautiful condition late nineteenth century

Pair of Alhambra bronze mirrors by Tiffany Co., with incised middle eastern designs over surface, with scrolling elements around mirror, and cross hatching and geometric motifs on handle, round hook at top of both for hanging. Measure 14" high, 7 3/8" in diameter, and roughly 1/2" deep. The backs are different, one is just flat, the other with step design, both types found in these mirrors...

From our European Collection, a good late 19th / early 20th century cast iron mirror, probably English. A charming but unpretentious piece that can complement many different styles of decor.

Size and Condition: 28 1/4 inches tall, 16 inches wide. Excellent condition, no repairs or restoration and the glass appears to be original: Some general wear to the ironwork commensurate with age as seen in the second close-up, but this only adds to the charm.
