Dating: 17th Century Provenance: Germany Straight, flame-shaped blade, on a side a strong raiser worked with woven chiselling, the tip shaped as an arrow. The quillon as bat wings, with hollow faces engraved with racemes. Bone grip, flat on a side and convex on the other, decorated with engraved effigy of soldiers and flowers within frames, iron cap. Scabbard of bone sectors engraved with floral motifs, with grotesque figures, at the front the high-relieved effigy of a soldier in his armour...

Excellent early European spoons, likely once silvered, nor in a brass / bronze colour. A rare set of early kitchenware, very interesting and from a very old Danish collection.

A rare and massive European Gate key, Late Medieval, ca. 14th.-15th. century.

A very heavy key with kidney-shaped bow and a very thick stem and bit. Remnants of copper plating on the surface.

Condition: Basically intact with very heavy patina and corrosion and loss of metal to the bit.

An late renaissance or baroque period Iron Padlock, European, ca. 16th.-17th. century.

Cast and wrought lock. Very beautiful with an arched moveable part and a keyhole at one end. The lock was cobber braized or plated in the renaissance manor and much cobber can still be spotted in parts of the surface (see pictures).

A wonderfully preserved massive Iron hatch with lock for an oven or a chimney, European, Renaissance, ca. 1480-1520.

The hatch is finely decorated with large attached rosettes and rivets and the still functioning lock ends in a twisted grib in the gothic form. Possibly Danish or Northern German and comes from an esteemed Danish private collection.

A pair of very large and elaborate silver temple rings, Viking settlers from Scandinavia (Kingdom of the Rus or Kievan Rus), present day Ukraine, c. 800-1000 AD.

The bow temple rings with globular decoration on crescents and with globular hangers on 4 skilfully made chains. These rings were worn from a headband around the temples by Viking Rus women, hence the name Temple rings.
