The unguentarium is sometimes referred to as lacrimarium (tear-container) or balsamarium (balsam-container). All three terms reflect different assumptions about their use.

This is a bronze dagger from the bactrian culture dating to roughly 200 BC. It is one of the oldest known types of bronze weapons. This one weighs 56 grams and is 192mm in length. It has some damage to the edges and point which should be visible in the photos. It has a very attractive patina and would look great in your ancient weapon collection.

This is a very unique bronze spear or lance point from the Amlash (or possibly Luristan) culture in ancient Iran(ca 2000 BC). It measures 132mm and weighs 48 grams. It has a fantastic malachite patina. It has four incised rings around the base of the blade and then remnants of two bronze rings which undoubtedly aided in the attachment of the point to a wooden shaft. It has some damage to the edges but is an incredible piece nonetheless.

This is a nice little dagger from the collection of the late John Piscopo. Mr. Piscopo's tag will stay with the item. It weighs 42 grams and measures nearly 17cm. It has three rivet perforations in the handle. It does not appear to have any repair and seems fairly solid. This is a good chance to own an inexpensive piece from the Piscopo collection.

A squat early cylinder seal in cream marble or calsite. The seal is carved with the 'eye' or circle/rhomboid form - a characteristic and significant design for the Period.

The Jemdet Nassr Period in seal manifacturing,3300-2900 BC, were spreading from Southern Mesopotamia, where a great number of administrative cuneiform tablets and seals came from. Such seals was used to impress pictures or descriptions into soft, prepared clay...

Interesting engraving on the base with a large Ankh hieroglyphs that looks to have legs and is walking towards another elongated figural sign.

Condition: Very fine, intact with much wear to the glaze, attractive patina!

An interesting scarab carved and polished in steatite stone, probably New Kingdom or earlier, 18th.-14th. cent. BC.

A very rare Early medieval / Byzantine bronze key c. 10th-12th. cent.

Interesting key first time in stock with a round bow and large rectangular slotted bit and hollow stem.

Size: 83 mm. long.

Condition: Nice VF, fine metal great patina, a small metal flaw from the making.

A thickbutted Danish neolithic axe dating to 3rd. mill BC.

The axe is polished on the sides. The shape is slightly asymmetrical, indicating that it might have been mounted as an adze.

The edge is sharp and could be used even today if mounted on a shaft.

Size is 15 cm - c. 6 inches.

Condition: Nearly superb with just i tiny chip to edge. Very nice grey / beige patina.

A high quality intaglio, large for type and carved in an even coloured transperant carnelian stone, probably MUGHAL/SAFAVID, 16th.-17th. century AD.

Rather complicated oval cartouche, carved with artful caligraphic arabic within a double border.
