Green serpentine cylinder seal, Mesopotamia c. early 2nd. mill. BC. Adoration or presentation scene before an alter.

Height: 2 cm, diameter 0.8 cm.

Condition: VF, intact with surface corrosion. Better than imprint indicates.

Ex. Private Collection of Karl Müller, 1950-1977. Comes with his imprint and COA.

A very attractive Byzantine or darkage bronze chest key approx 6th.-9th. century AD.

The key is finely made with a round bow and square decoration to the hollow stem.

Size: 75 mm. long.

Condition: Extremely fine, superb with even green patina. A condition rarity as such.

Mosaic glass pendant in the shape of a bearded head, surmounted by a large loop for attachment to a necklace. Phenicia, or Carthage, archaic period, 350 to 200 B.C. Height: 6.1 cm. Barely visible old accident, superbly restored, otherwise very good condition. NOTE: similar pendants are shown in the Antique Glass Collection of the Louvre Museum in Paris. Publications: "Les verres antiques du Musee du Louvre", Louvre Editions, Paris 2011.

Ancient Egyptian Faience Amulet Of Bes Playing Tambourine 1,5 cm

A small but vibrant blue faience amulet of the god Bes playing the tambourine with suspension loop to the top. He is an ancient Egyptian deity worshipped as a protector of households, mothers and children and childbirth. Bes combines characteristics of a dwarf and a lion.

Painting on Egyptian pottery is not very common before the New Kingdom (1550-1069 BC), but appears often in the late 18th Dynasty. This blue-decorated pottery was first recognised on a bigger scale at the palace of king Amenhotep III (1388-1351/50 BC)...

A nice classic terracotta head of a young woman, Egypt during the Roman Imperial period, c. 1st. cent. AD.

The head nicely mounted to a large mable plint.

A turquoise glazed faience Ushabti figure, of mummiform shape, made in ancient Egypt during the late period, circa 1069 - 332 BC. Provenance: from an old Merseyside collection. Condition: there is age degradation to the surface and the tip of the feet has been chipped off. 9cm (3.5 inches) long.

An extremely rare seal made of solid silver c. late 2nd.-early 1st. millenium BC.

The seal of a familiar type of cone-formed seals, known in stone and bronze, as Western Mesopotamian types from Urartu and other Neo-Hittite / Neo-Assyrian client states further south. The seal engraved in the base with two figures.

Seals of silver are extremely rare from any of the ancient cultures, especially a seal this early. We've had only 3 other silver seals in stock for 25 years...

Interesting early Gable stamp seal of the Ubaid period and probably made in the later 5th. mill. BC.

The seal depicts an artful motif of two juxtaposed stylized animals with long legs.

Size: 29 mm. long and 22 mm. wide.

Condition: Very fine, some weaer to the edges.

Interesting early geomethric design stamp seal, carved in black stone, Eastern most Anatolia / Western Mesopotamia, c. late 7th.-6th. millenium BC.

The slightly irregular rectangular seal carved with a grit-pattern and with an evolving pierced handle on the back, finely polished.

Size: c. 27-28 mm. wide and 17 mm. thick and c. 16 mm. tall...

Small glass phial, with a bulbous body resting on a circular foot and surmounted by a cylindrical long neck. Slight irisations and soil encrustations. Roman period, ca. 3rd century. Height: 5.5 cm. Very good condition.

A nice round stamp seal with handle, with precise finding place near the ancient city of Antioch, and dating to the Mesopotamian late Halaf-early Ubaid period, Late Neolithic - Early Chalcholite, c. 5th. millenium BC.
