Fabulous antique Chinese table apron textile with 4 gold dragons, (originally had nine), above water on a blue silk background with auspicious Buddhist symbols and a two inch floral border of peonies, irises, and butterflies in blues and white, the border possible was added at a later date. Up for sale is an antique Chinese kesi /K'ossu tapestry, 19th or early 20th century, woven with polychrome silk & gold-wrapped threads, the middle square with gold thread ground depcits a battle scene - Worriors on horseback and armed; framed with border embellished with 16 Chinese mythical creatures. The panel is overall in very good condition, it was removed from the frame, one side the color is bright and clean but the opposite side is faded with glues and tears along edges of the border...

A woven square taken from the front of a Chinese Emperor's robe with a front facing dragon in couched gold and a constellation symbol. Yellow (or apricot yellow) robes could only be worn by the Emperor or Empress. The color has faded and changed to this current tan color. Each Emperor's robe had twelve symbols of Imperial Authority embroidered on it in specific places. We can see "The Constellation" which represents the handles of Ursa Major, the Big Dipper, just above the dragon's head...

Up for sale is an uncut antique Chinese silk brocade weaving with green ground; the yardage was made for a Han Chinese's wrapped skirt during the Qing dynasty, it was woven with different scenaries, mountains, pagodas, bridges, etc. with polychrome silk floss and gold thread; excellent condition, no wear, a label with name of the silk manufacturer is woven on the bottom. A piece good for study purposes. Measurements: Width 30", length 70"
