Five chinese blue and white tea cups made for the Japanese market. Grey/white glaze and underglaze cobalt blue of a deep indigo color depicts birds and flowers in a whimsical design. The cups were used in the Japanese tea ceremony. Fretting on the edges. 17th century. Cups measure 5" at lip.

18th Century Chinese Yongzheng period Famille Rose Porcelain large deep Charger/Platter, between 1723-1736, 15 1/4" diameter, 2 1/4" high, with large Peony flowering branches in the center bordered by high and wide rim decorated with more Peony floral design, highlighted with gold. The decorations are done by raised low relief overglaze enamel and emphasize for the each design, strokes and colors with black fine lines. The condition is good, no damage or restoration.

An interesting set of two Chinese Canton paintings depicting two festival scenes that were possibly seen on the streets in China during the Qing dynasty. The top view depicts a figure riding a horse and people are flocking to receive blessings. The bottom scene is showing a theatrical troupe passing by. A pair of two different paintings depicting different views of people either engaged in different activities. One scene appears to show a soldier like figure coming back or meeting a lady and another scene is depicting a family at leisure. Particular elements have elements similar to Chinese theatrical costuming and designs. The techniques are more Western since these works were made in Guangzhou in the Canton concessions. All handles with decoration of small Chinese figures among pagodas and a shield-shaped cartouche with monogram "S", the silver tines and blades engraved. Unmarked. This is early Fitzhugh porcelain with very fine and delicately decorated Chrysanthemums and Peony sprigs in four(4) sections within diapers and spearheads border which is done with very exact and fine brush strokes in underglaze blue. Pair of Greyhounds in tilework covered with green glaze.The sculptures are beautiful, the dogs are well represented, very expressive. The position is elegant. The first is in good condition, the second has a broken tail. Long: 17cm (6.7 inches) In my opinion it's a chinese work, the look and the eyes seem to me the work of a Chinese artist and not a European one,clay too. I think it's from Qing period, probably Kangxi. It's too elegant to be Ming.

Base marked "Nanking", mark of the Nanking Silver Store in Shanghai. Condition: the cap with one, the foot and beaker's rim with small dents. A Chinese mother of pearl box of canted rectangular shape and mounted with silver edgings. The cover is delicately and minutely engraved with a scene of figures at leisure in a pavilion surrounding a vacant shield. The sides bear panels of very finely worked flowers with geometric borders. The box is in excellent condition and superb quality craftsmanship. Age: early 19 C. size: 7.5cm x 6.3cm x 3cm high.

A pair Chinese silver spill vases made for the Western export or used in the Chinese market as incense stick holders. Decorated with prunus twigs, standing on three splayed feet with original clear glass inserts. Base with maker's mark "WH90", standing for the Wang Hing Company, working in Shanghai and Hong Kong around 1900. Condition: fine, few traces of usage, one insert seems to be a bit too long. Dimension: c. 11.6 cm high, weight of silver: 90 g.

A pair Kangxi period (1662-1722) molded plates with foliated rim, painted in overglaze red pigment and gold. This kind of trade porcelain was produced to special order for the Dutch market and called there "melk and bloed". Condition: wear to gilding, rims with fritting - no hairlines or restoration. Dimension: c. diameter 21.7 cm, 2.5 cm high.

Chinese Export Blue and White covered deep serving Tureen or Dish, Ca. 1800-1820, 5 1/2" high, 9 1/4" x 8 1/4" wide, with cut corner shape and Pine Cone Knob on top, very nice soft underglaze blue with sampan floating in the lake, pavilion and pagoda under willow tree next to bridge. Underglaze blue is just right for the type of Canton ware for early period. The condition is good.

The condition is good, some of the enamel colors on the family Crest area is slightly rubbed off from usage.

Chinese Export Cafe au Lait Porcelain Tea pot, made later part of Qianlong period 1736-1796, 5" high with knob, 7 1/2" wide with spout and handle included. Iron red and black overglaze decoration of flowering branches highlighted in gold inside the leaf shape open cartouches on both sides and another smaller cartouches under the handle. Only two(2) small very shallow old frits, the size of 1/8" inside the unglazed area of the top rim.

A quite large mother of pearl shell carving, the pierced decoration is showing the deity Magu among birds and flowers. Condition: the rim with a short crack, without stand. Dimension: c. 20.5 cm long x 17.6 cm high.
