A very rare extremely large storage jar from the Chinese Song period, 960 -1126 AD.These jars were used for storage for Chinese trading vessels. They were then traded off to Chieftains in Southeast Asia and were considered sacred items. Most jars were from the Ming to the middle Qing Dynasties. This one is very rare as it dates back to the Song Dynasty. This vase was found in Borneo, Malaysia. It is unusual to find this size jar intact from that period. Size: H. 76 cm. W. 57 cm...

Beautiful Chinese hardwood altar table in black lacquer finish, with highly intricate and ornate gilt lacquer designs all over. The front and back are carved to look like coins held together by ropes. The very top has three hand painted panels depicting gorgeously detailed ocean landscape scenes. Fine TALL Pair Chinese Tang Dynasty Painted Pottery Lokapala Figures with Oxford TL Test  

This fine and impressive matching pair of pottery lokapala figures was made during the Tang Dynasty (AD 618 - 906). They are "heavily-potted" and made from a reddish pottery that have been "cold painted" in various coloured pigments. On the surface in places there still remain traces of gold leaf. Note the exquisite detail of their clothing and hairstyle...

This pair of ivory carvings of ladies and lotus was completed in the mid 19th century. They depict aristocratic ladies holding stylized bouquets of reeds and lotus. Mythical deer are leaning over their robes. The carving is superb. Their traditional hairstyles, peaceful faces and detailed silk robes, playful deer and floral design bases really contribute to the overall quality of the pieces...

Chinese jade carved container in the style of archaic bronzes, with fitted lid, square form with flanged handles on either side, carved all over with archaic motifs, a total of ten pierced carved handles in the form of lions heads each with a freely carved ring in it's mouth, beautiful translucent green jade with pale green and white striations, Republic Period. Size including wooden stand: 9 1/4" high x 5 1/2" wide x 3 1/2" deep.

Chinese large porcelain vase with light blue jun ware underglaze. The body is pear shaped and slightly lobed, with dramatically fluted neck and rim, and short foot.

The Jun glaze is a complex blue glaze which was developed in Henan province during the the Northern Song and Jin dynasties, occasionally with red streaks. Jun wares have their name after Jun zhou from where it originated...

The pair of mid 19th century carved ivory emperor and empress are 14”~15” high, 3”~3 ½” wide and 2 ½” thick. The emperor’s right hand holds a pagoda; his left hand carries a long sword. Two small long tailed birds and a flower plant are placed in front of him. The empress’s right hand holds a flower basket; her left hand carries a tassel. A large phoenix sitting on a garden rock is beside her. The impression on their faces are very well presented and their robes, hat, hair ...

An antique six panel Chinese coromandel screen with motif of birds and flowers inlaid with mother of pearl and semi precious stones. This style of screen emerged during the Ming dynasty in China and has been favored in Europe for centuries. Each element of detail has been masterfully rendered. The lacquer is in wonderful original condition showing a lusterious rich finish.

A very large museum quality blue cobalt Jar. It is very, very rare to find this type of vase in cobalt blue, especially in this size and condition. The center of the vase has a relief of a dragon chasing the elusive flaming pearl. Size: H. 92.8cm. W. 46cm. Condition: Very good with no repairs or missing parts. One side has some calcification from being buried for a long time. It show up more in the photo than it actually is.

A very large authentic Tang tomb guardian wearing a typical warrior's uniform standing on an evil earth creature with remains of the original pigments. The guardian was there to protect the tomb from these evil creatures. The item was found with its parts separated.Large statues like this were made in several parts. See last photo. Age: Tang Dynasty 618 - 907 AD. Size: H.86cm. W.38cm Condition: Very good for its age.
