Also known as Shuanghuan Pavilion, the pavilion was moved in 1977 to the Temple of Heaven, Beijing. This is a photo of the pavilion in its original location near The Forbidden City. Vintage Chinese silver pin in a shape of a mythical animal. Judging by the flame like mane it is possibly a huodou - a large black dog that can emit flames from its mouth. Very good crisp work, in great condition. There is no hallmark, but I am confident that the metal is silver. Weight 5.7 grams, length 1.25 inches.

Tibetan yak butter tea “po cha” or barley beer “chang” bowl carved from burlwood, possibly Rhododendron circa 50 to 100 years old. D:11.8cm/4.6in and H: 5cm/1.9in, there is one worn chip on the edge. A charming old piece- difficult to find these days. This was not turned on a lathe, but entirely carved by hand.

A Rare Han Dynasty large oval glass bead in shades of very pale blue to dark sky blue. Most of the front side of the bead has developed an intriguing beige patina. There are bi-toned (dark green & light blue) curvey line designs which are imbedded in the glass surface. The light blue line is now iridescent with age. The bead has two holes in the center for stringing.

Han Dynasty .
