A fine and rare Ningyo, wonderfully well-executed face with strong features, covered overall in a fine tinted gofun (oyster shell lacquer), with a spectacular silk fiber hairstyle, sumptuous silk brocades, and a sword at his hip while holding a fabulous polearm weapon. 10.5 inches, 26.5 cm.

A Fine Large Japanese Imari Bowl, Meiji, 19th Century.

A fine and substantial Arita Imari rinka bowl. Six panels, inside and out, are alternatively decorated with ho-o birds and flowers.

The centre of the bowl depicts the shochikubai, the three friends of winter. A suggestion of breaking waves can also be observed to the left of the screens.

Fine Large Chinese Warring States Impressed Pottery Jar with Oxford TL Test (475 - 221 BC)

This very rare large and impressive pottery jar was made during the Warring States period (475 - 221 BC). It is made from a hard high-fired pottery. The body widens as it goes up from the base to a horizontal shoulder and then into quite a wide but short neck with a flared mouth...

This 19th century blue and white moon flask with handles is 12” high, 8” wide and 3 ½” thick. It depicts two lions (Shi Zhi) surround by clouds playing with balls. There is a Kang Xi honorable mark on the bottom. Aside from one small chip on the handle, small hairline cracks on the bottom and a few flaws from firing, it is in good condition.

An unusual pair of hand embroidered Chinese silk pouches with auspicious symbols. The color contrast is stunning, each has its original silk tassels. These pouches also have their original drawstrings yet intact. These pouches may have been used for eyeglasses and /or general use. In excellent condition with only minimal fading, which is remarkable considering their age, the pouches measure 6" (15.2 cm) long. The tassels measure 5" (12.7 cm).

Porcelain covered with green glaze to the foot, unglazed concave base. PERIOD : Yuan Dynasty (1279-1368 AD) MEASUREMENTS: 8 cm wide, 6.5 cm tall. CONDITION: 3 glaze frittings to the rim and no cracks, no hairlines and free from restoration.

A very fine mask of the esoteric "Nuo" theater, representing the character of Tudigong, the God of the Soil and of the Cereals, wearing an official cap, his face illuminated by a large smile. Wood, with traces of polychrome colors under the black coating. China, early 20th century. Height: 23.7 cm. The mask is nicely mounted on a custom metal stand. Very good condition.
